She looked at Conrad. "I don't think an ordinary woman can give birth to an undead baby. Besides, it looked perfectly normal."

Conrad glared at her, "Floating is not normal and I never said the child was undead at birth. Instead, the most likely answer is stillborn."
Natasha opened and closed her mouth. "Oh. Frederic, what do you think?"
Frederic's excitement had vanished and his face had darkened. "Why are you too looking into that stuf?"
Conrad shrugged, "Helping a new friend and I enjoy solving a good mystery. Besides, acceptable reason or not, my explanation still stands as viable."
Natasha shrugged slightly. "We can't just ignore what went on in there. Can't you tell us more about the girl? How old was she? Do you think she was pregnant or could she just have been hurt by that creature?"
Freedric sighed. "Well... I wasn't there so I can't get into details. I was in the Great Hall dining when my cat grabbed a fish off my plate and ran outside. I went after her and that's when I heard Professor Eddings and the nurse talking with Headmistress Inkyfingers about what happened. Someone had just found a young girl no older than 14-15 years old banging on the wall with her fists and screaming." He stopped for a few moments. "Maybe I should have told you earlier..." he started staring at his feet again. "When I bumped into Elle in the stairs where you found us, I had just left the library to check what had happened myself. I had come here first to read the book you're holding right now."
Conrad processed the information, "14 to 15, old enough to bear a child... Do you know what she was screaming?"
She gasped. "What do you mean? I got this book to find out more about that baby...or whatever it was! You never said anything about the creature, only the girl."She crossed her arms, pursing her lips. "What else do you know that you haven't told us? Did you find anything in the book?"
"She was just screaming, she didn't say anything specific." Frederic messed up his hair nervously. "Turn to page 167..."
"Page 167... Natasha, would you please check the page and tell me what is on it."
Frederic had stepped aside horrified. He had just realised that Elle wasn't there...
Conrad noticed his housemate's behavior and realized as well that Elle wasn't there, "Frederic, where's Miss Flint?"
She turned the pages quickly, so anxious she almost dropped the book. As soon as she opened up to the page her eyes landed on a picture of what looked like a baby. She slipped her reading glasses out of her bag and started reading. "I see." She bit her lip. "Well that explains why it was screaming and moaning. Because it's mother was."
She took her glasses off and rubbed the bridge of her nose. "Conrad, you were right. The baby wasn't undead, but the girl was its mother, somehow. It says here that that 'this dangerous creature derives it power from imitating its mother at the time of its birth.' This is crazy." She shook her head.
"She was with me when we left the common room to follow you... I thought she was with me the whole time!" Frederic had panicked. He couldn't believe he was so excited only minutes ago.
Conrad curses to himself but maintains a cool head, "We need to find her, she could be in danger from whatever beast we're facing. Natasha, what's the name of the thing?"
"Professor Eddings dealt with it, didn't he?" Frederic added his voice trembling. "I've got to go find Elle!"
"He's right. Forget the creature. We'll help you Frederic." Natasha's face was grim.
Conrad's expression matched that of Natasha's, "Come on, let's hurry. Natasha, fill us in on what the thing is as we go." He turned and headed for the exit, pulling his wand from his pocket as he went.
Natasha nodded. "Do you think something happened to her?" She directed her question to Frederic while she put her glasses away and pulled out her own wand.
"We hid behind a statue on the second floor just moments before Conrad entered the library. That was the last time I saw her. I really have no idea what may have happened." Frederic glanced at the two kids as if seeing them for the first time. "This might be dangerous. Are you sure you wanna come? Perhaps it would be better if you informed the professors..."
Natasha snorted. "Not likely." She brushed the two guys aside on her way out of the library. "Well? You guys coming?"
Conrad glares at him, "She's a seventh year and I've spent enough time reading through the secrets of the Restricted Section to hold my own against a single beast. Besides, it would take too long and you can't go on your own."
Natasha grinned. "What he said. Now, do you have anything of Elles? I know a tracking spell."
Conrad followed Natasha out of the library.
"Ask Frederic, he seems close to her."
Frederic felt a bit uncomfortable. He glanced down, there was a couple of long blonde hair on his jumper. He pulled one and passed it to Ally coyly. Pulling out his wand he exclaimed decisively "Let's do this!"

Natasha took the hairs from Frederic. "Perfect." They came to the statue where Elle had last been seen. Natasha pointed her wand at the strands and spoke an incantation. Tracks leading from the statue down the corridor glowed silver."And that, gentlemen, is where we're headed to."
((LOL i got confused! So are we switching somewhere else? :) ))
