Delaney laughed her tinkling laugh, "The teacher is rather...odd... But I am managing to survive. It's better if you actually understand the subject! Most people don't," Delaney giggled.
Damien sighed and walked into the library.
((They don't have to be in the same house to be friends))
Christen moved swiftly into the library, robes billowing, and plopped into an open chair and leaned back. Ugh, it had been a long, annoying day. She had tortured several first year Ravenclaws at the lake today and was pleased. Her feet hurt from the extra high heels she was wearing and she kicked them off. It wasn't until she dropped her hair pin under the desk when she noticed she wasn't alone.
Damien glanced over at the girl who walked in and gave a small chuckle, and continued reading his book soon rubbing his eyes and drifting off into a daydream.
Christen sneered at the boy and plucked a quill from her bag, and wrote on her blank parchment, "Properties of Dragons Blood" across the top. She leaned back and balanced on the rear chair legs.
Damien looked over at her, questioningly. "Problem?" He asked.
Christen looked sideways at him. "Sorry." She muttered. Christen fidgeted with her quill. She drew a large tree in the corner of the sheet of parchment. She quickly crossed it out when she noticed him looking in her direction.
"No I am, I snapped at you for no reason and I'm sorry for that." He said sighing and rubbing his eyes putting down his book.
"Thank you," Christen said stiffly. "Studying?" She pointed at the book in his hand. She shot a nasty look at the librarian who was eyeing her rudely for speaking loudly.
"Yes studying ancient runes, you?" He asked looking at her, then over at the librarian for a moment.
"Potions." Sighed Christen. She tried to keep her cool, but she felt it slipping away. She loved making those first years mad this morning but suddenly, she felt she shouldn't have.
His dark eyes studied her for a moment, before going back to his book and smiling to himself.
Christen, still feeling guilty about hurting those young students, surveyed the boy, then quickly glanced away when she noticed he was looking at her. She opened her mouth then shout it. She scribbled the 11 uses of dragons blood she knew.
"Troubled?" He asked looking at her again then back at his book, chuckling to himself.
"Slightly..." she muttered. She wrote the last use of dragons blood, let the ink dry and rolled it up and stuffed it in her bag.
"How so?" He asked looking at her.
Christen blushed. "I suppose you could say, well..." She trailed off. She needed to start from the beginning. "When I was a little girl, my cousins and I, Delaney Jackson of Ravenclaw, and Petra Jackson of Gryffendor, we were very close... And now they hate me because of some silly dare," she sighed.
"Dare?" He asked looking at her as he putt his book down. "Care to elaborate?"
"Oh," she looked down. She lowered her voice. "Me and Petra, we were never the closest of the cousins, we were daring each other to do stuff, stupid stuff, and I made Petra go into the forest." She frowned. "I go in there by myself a lot so I didn't think it was a big deal, you know. But of course she had to go in there and break her ankle," sighed Christen. "I mean, she's better now of course, but they both think I'm awful and I knew she would hurt herself." She shook her head sadly and pulled a book from her bag.
"Well dear let me tell you something, honestly I think that wasn't your fault if you'd been daring each other for awhile now so how were you to know anything different would happen." He said looking at her.
She nodded. In the corners of her eyes, tears were threatening to fall. She blinked rapidly and said, "I just want to let them know I didn't mean any harm. But now they're telling people, a Ravenclaw called Dahlia and a Gryffindor named Alice, that I meant to hurt Petra. They give me nasty looks in the hallways and thugs like that." She sighed and flipped to a page in her potions book titled, Dragons Blood.
"I know Dahlia lovely girl, and if it'll make you feel any better I could ask her about you and see what she says and if it's crooked I could try and straighten things out." He said looking at her.
"First I do want to know yours." He said looking at her.
"Thanks, I'm Damien." He said looking at her.
"You too." He said shaking her hand.
Christen jumped and stated at the clock. "Merlin! I'm 10 minutes late for my class, I'll see you later Damien," she gathered up her things and fled the library, waving.
He smiled and waved back heading towards the common room.
Ruby walked in the library trying not to be noticed by anyone. She enjoyed the peace and quiet that her little table in the far end of the room offered her. She had seen enough for a day. She really needed the peace and quiet.
It was the best time of the day. Her classes were over, and of course so was her homework and she was free to spend the next hours reading more on "How to Communicate with Newborn Dragons" in the Dragon Section of the library.
Noises come from the next desk. Oh, how annoying they are, unable to whisper and everything. She finally realizes that it's unavoidable and rushes over there to demand silence.

((Ok if I join?))
Petra looked up and glared at the girl approaching. "Go away! Can't you see I'm busy?" She snapped. Delany patted her arm and said kindly to the approaching girl, "Hi! Are we bothering you?" Laney smiled.

((Sure!))
Ruby saw the people, and stared at them for a while. Whatever that girl's problem is, she is too dramatic. She could just walk away, talking to people is not her thing. Being the gloomy and cold character she's always been, she replied icely:
''If you don't mind, silence is mandatory in the library."
With that she turned away to leave when she felt someone touching her, trying to stop her.
((I'm sorry, are your characters all girls?))

((Yes, they are. Thanks!!))
Delany was reaching and touching Ruby gently. "Please, don't be bothered by her. She's going through a great ordeal." She turned to Petra whispering, "Please, Pet. Quiet."
