Grace tapped the cover of the book...she hadn't thought of that. She had done remarkably well to keep the secret of her family from almost everyone at Hogwarts. She certainly didn't need everyone bothering her about being an orphan. Drama was the last thing she wanted.
"The mystery," she said vaguely, flipping open the book. "It's...well. This wizard I'm looking for. I think he's a criminal. And I saw him three years ago, right before something terrible happened. I'm sure he's behind it- and I've seen him before. It was at a party, or something."

At that moment, the librarian walked past the girls, and dumped a pile of leaflets on the next desk. Grace peered at them, reached out for one.
"Another singing contest," she remarked. "Starts in two weeks. Do you remember the contest last year, Lil? It was great...music every Monday."

She blushed.
"And I'm sorry I don't have that much to go on. I don't know much at all...I just need to find out who he is. And I will someday. Somehow."

Grace cringed.
"I just need to find out," she said, standing up. "It's not really a big deal, actually. But, I...thank you. For helping me find Which Witch. It's been so nice meeting you. I hope to see you around again, Lil."
She slipped the book into her bag, hoping to make a quick escape to the common room. How embarrassing...as if she thought that Lil would help her without the truth.

Grace paused.
"Shoot," she said. "As in...shoot..." She grinned. "Is that an American term?"

"Right," Grace said, trying not to laugh. "I do love American English...it seems so funny."

The bell in the old clock tower outside began chiming, and Grace turned to the window.
"Dinner," she said, and smiled despite herself. "I'd better go. Nice to meet you, Lil."
She walked out of the library, half-dragging the book in her bag behind her.

As she walked, the mention of a "Vic" made Grace wonder if she wasn't the only person with a burden in the school.
((Do you have any other characters? Grace is my only one.))
((Well, now I'm here! To, er, make it a variety of dryness! Lol. Btw, Grace is a huge romantic...don't suppose you know of any single charries?))

Ooooh! Niiiiice!
I might just do that!
:D
Andi said she might make me a "young man" for her, so this could be awesome! Yay!

(It's already begun! Shhh, check out the Lake! Vic/Grace action, Take No. 1! Action!)
Damien sighed running his hand along the spines of books as he passed them.

Delaney sidled in plopping her books down and putting her head down on the table. She finally noticed the girl sitting across from her. She sat up quickly, "Oh my goodness! I'm sorry!" She blushed profusely.
Delaney pulled out a book and buried her nose in it. Her cheeks still pink. Delaney thought vaguely 'Well this is rather awkward...' Her mind became totally blank as she poured over 'Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean'
Delaney continued reading for a good minute before she answered, "Oh! Sorry. I'm Delaney. Delaney Jackson. Who are you?"
Delaney's eyes widened for a minute then she grinned and said, "Wow! That's a cool name! I wish I had an unique name," she sighed. "Are you a Ravenclaw?"

Delaney who was still waiting for Yellow's return smiled, got up, and slid into the chair across from the girl who had just sat down.
"Exams are going pretty well. I've just finished studying for my Charms one which is scheduled for after lunch," Delaney explained breathlessly, "I can only wonder what I'm going to do if I fail! Because, what is one to if they fail?" Delaney asked desperately, he large eyes widening.
Delaney was slightly eased but she still felt really nervous. "Are you worried about exams? I expect you are! It's your OWL year isn't it?"
"Yes," Grace said quietly. "Yes, please."
