The Road - Cormac McCarthy (dystopian) - a masterpiece
Sputnik Sweetheart - Haruki Murakami (surrealist) - beautiful as always, but kind of annoying
The Passage - Justin Cronin (dystopian) - excellent but too many characters.
The Hunger Games - Susanne Collins (dystopian) - excellent and deserved of the hype
Catching Fire - Susanne Collins (dystopian) - good, but not as good as the first book
Mockingjay - Susanne Collins (dystopian) - I was kind and gave it three stars but it was crap, a bona fide turkey
Day Soldiers - Brandon Hale (dystopian) - strange but really good
All in the Mind - Jenny Twist (kind of mainstream, slightly surreal) - very interesting feelgood book
The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed out of a Window and Disappeared - Jonas Jonasson (kind of comedy drama) - excellent, but way too much back story and not enough front story
Wool - Hugh Howey. Very good. Great concept, thought the ending was a bit too happy though.
Horrorbook - AR Braun. Read it because the author asked me to and while I reviewed it from the view of a fan of the genre it wasn't really my thing.
The Machine Gunners - Robert Westall. A children's classic. Very good. Interesting depiction of life in wartime England.
Life - Keith Richards. Legendary. Best book I've read in years but probably not one for non-Stones fans.
