message 1: by Beki (new)

Beki | 8 comments Wanting green lights and open doors is symptomatic of our generation and and younger, I think. Just because something is God's will doesn't mean it will be easy. In my experience, it is RARE that I see open door after open door.

message 2: by Chris (new)

Chris Monks | 20 comments Beki's thinking was right in line with mine about the generational aspect. I want to add, however, that the only Christians I personally know who claim to see open door after open door are those whom have been exposed to, or are into, the health & wealth gospel. Just an observation. I don't want to bash.

message 3: by Chris (new)

Chris Monks | 20 comments I only bring that up because some of those people, whom are my friends, have led me to cynical and cautious about open doors.

message 4: by Beki (new)

Beki | 8 comments I would agree, Chris. But, don't you think some of those people might call something an "open door from God" when really it is just coincidental or convenient? Maybe I'm a bit cynical too.

message 5: by Chris (new)

Chris Monks | 20 comments "Coincidental or convenient?" Convenience is a good word for it. My cynicism has gotten in the way of my faith at times. It's my biggest struggle. Maybe that gets in the way of me noticing "open doors."

message 6: by Jeremy (new)

Jeremy (jeremyhoover) I agree that some Christians will use the idea of "open doors" to suit themselves and find a convenient way to do their own will while claiming they are doing God's will. But how do you discern when it is really God's will or God's opening of a door?
