i forgot the name of a book

Hi

I remember reading some time ago a fantasy book about a boy who hears music inside his head. He is arrested because hearing that music is forbidden is his country, so he needs to run. He meets an old wizard on his way and goes to some sort of island where there are all people who hear the music.

there is also some talking about a veil and a supernatural hunt.

I wanted to see if the writer had the next story out, so i could re-read the book again, but I forgot the author and anything that could help me find the book.
Does anyone maybe know the title?
