Beta readers REFUSE to read ms b/c it has gay characters

So I was roaming the web like I do and came across this article by a writer (who is straight) that wrote a ms with gay characters. She now has no beta readers because of it.

I don't understand how the appearance of gay characters could make anyone want to abandon their offers to beta read someone's book. That's an awfully bigoted approach to literature. The characters' orientations should not present a problem. But hey - to each their own.

I'd also like to give Lissy major props because she stands by her words and she's not changing the story for people who can't handle the queer content of her book. THAT'S the spirit of a truly wonderful and dynamic author.
