books added to author page written by someone else

This couldn't be a new problem, but I've been unable to find it discussed. Most likely I'm not describing it well, missing it in a list of bugs, and using confusing tags.
On my author page a new book has appeared. "Bachelor Buttons" by Kathleen Maher.
The author, I swear, is not the same Kathleen Maher I am. It's a fairly common name but I decided long ago, rather than use my Roman Catholic Confirmation name--Dymphna--to ascribe my writing to myself, as people know me. Telling my friends (not even counting online friends), "Hey, from now on I'm 'Dymphna Maher'," doesn't appeal to me. Neither does a middle initial. In some places (like Ireland and areas with many of Irish descent), "Kathleen Maher" is so common that 26 alternatives may not be enough. But even if it were, I believe I'm entitled to use the name I "go by."
In any case, I'd like to know how to remove "Bachelor Buttons" from the books I wrote and see the novel attributed to the rightful writer.
Anyone know how?

It just happens with common names, you just have to report it here and librarians will take care of it.

I have attributed that book to another Kathleen Maher adding an extra space between first and last name, thus creating another profile: http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/... Turns out (see post below) there already was the right profile in the system, http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...

I need to report the same problem with a different pair (at least) of authors who have the rather common name John Mayer. The one who wrote Hex Code and Others is definitely NOT the John Mayer whose profile Goodreads takes you to when you click on "John Mayer" at the Hex Code book entry. :-(

No, Emy, I don't have anything like that at the moment, but I'll see what I can come up with tomorrow (right now, I'm about to get offline for tonight). I do know that Hex Code and Others is the only book (so far) written by the John Mayer I know, if that helps!

Can you or the author provide a brief bio for the Hex Code John Mayer?

Hex Code John Mayer is a Goodreads member, who already has a profile (www.goodreads.com/user/show/1303424-j... ). Sorry I didn't give you that link in my previous message (it was late, and my brain wasn't working at peak efficiency!). Would it help if I message him, so that he can see about applying for Goodreads author status, and getting his two profiles combined? (I know him slightly from a group we're in together, and his publisher and I are Goodreads friends.)

For future information, if he publishes another book, he will need to add his name as John^^^^^^Mayer, where ^ is a space, to separate him out from the other John Mayers :) (Yes, 6 spaces).

Emy, thanks! Yes, I know his original profile is a user profile, rather than an author one --he needs to become a Goodreads author, and have the two combined. I'll be sure to send him that link and the info about the six spaces this evening (I'm at work right now).
