Greetings Readers -- in honor of our Summer Reading theme, READ TO FEED, we've created a list for you of the best books on sustainable agriculture, world hunger, mindful cooking and eating, and more. Here's the list:

We also have a display of these books on the second floor. Stop by to check one out today!

Here's the story behind the READ to FEED theme: This year, each book you read will count toward a donation to the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry in the Library's name. Thank you to the Glen Ellyn Rotary Club for sponsoring this donation! You may also sign up for a volunteer shift with the library at the Northern Illinois Food Bank on Saturday, July 20.

Books you read on ANY topic, fiction or non, count on your summer reading log. You get a chocolate bar just for signing up, and a chance to win an iPad Mini. Sign up here!:

Linda, that's a great suggestion! I will check our catalog and pull that one for the display tomorrow if it's in and not already there.

Maybe consider Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan....he always gives us a lot of food for thought!

Another great suggestion! Thanks for both of those...Omnivore's Dilemma is checked out right now, but I've put the Wendell Berry title on display, and both titles on the updated list:
