"Yeah, it goes on for several miles." Shetan started slowly walking again towards a nearby tree that was straight ahead. When he reached it, he touched the bark absentmindedly, looking around, before he sat down underneath it.

"So could I," Shetan agreed, leaning and reclining back against the tree. He felt restful and content. After that long walk, it felt good to sit down and recline somewhere. But he felt even happier inside with Ginny around.

(( an idea occurred to me about how we could add a conflict to this if you're interested ))
((Sure. What kind of conflict?))
Shetan noticed her moving closer to him and gave a faint smile. He continued looking around again at the plain. There were a few scattered trees in it, including this tree they were sitting underneath.

Ginny found herself dozing off for a while with her head leaning against Shetan's shoulder. The walk into the woods, up the mountain, and past the mountain had left her tired. She hadn't felt its effect until she closed her eyes for a second and then was out of it.
((Sure! That can happen. Should it happen when they are back inside Ginny's house? Also, would you like to play the part of the people coming by?))
Shetan remained awake, not tired and only relaxed, and he felt her head on his shoulder. He glanced down at her before slowly moving his hand and placing her hand in his.

Ginny hair began to blow into her face as she slept; this is what woke her up. Her hands lifted up as she blinked her eyes open to move aside her hair that tickled her nose. She looked over at Shetan and smiled softly "Hi there," she said.
((Okay! I really love Shetan, too. :) ))
Shetan glanced over at her when he noticed her moving and waking up. "Hi," he smiled. He looked up at the sky and noticed that it was beginning to get late. The sun was starting to go down. "This late already?" he murmured.

Shetan stood up as she did, looking over at the sunset that was beginning to fall, the bright colors of red, orange, and yellow coming over the sky.

Shetan stared at the sunset for a long time. He enjoyed it when the sun set. Personally, he liked sunsets better than sunrises. Finally after a while, his gaze shifted down to her.

"I think it's going to get too dark even while we're making our way back," Shetan said. "The way back is much too far in order to be back before dark. There is a way for me to take you back to your house without having to worry about darkness and wolves and the like." Right after he spoke, his huge, black demon wings sprouted out of his back and stretched magnificently. "I can fly you back."

Shetan crossed his arms proudly, looking almost like a magnificent demon statue the way he stood in his pose. He gave a small grin down at her. "They are my pride," he said, glancing back at them.

Shetan smiled before moving down, getting on his hands and knees for her. It would have been hard for her to get on his back otherwise, since he was so big.

Shetan carefully lifted up off the ground so that she wouldn't fall off, and he began to flap his wings, rising higher and higher into the sky until he was flying over the mountains.

Shetan smiled and looked around himself as he flew. He always enjoyed himself whenever he flew. Soon they were flying over the woods, and he saw Ginny's house below. He flew lower until he landed on his hands and knees on the ground. He waited for Ginny to get off before he stood up, stretching his wings.

As Shetan followed her back inside, his wings folded and disappeared inside his back. But as he entered inside, he thought he heard a faint shout as well. His head whipped back towards the door at the outdoors, wondering if he really did hear what he heard. There always was that possibility that people could have looked up and seen Shetan flying through the sky.

Shetan trusted her word and immediately dismissed the thought. But then he stopped abruptly, hearing a louder shout. He saw the group of people coming through the curtains that Ginny had opened, and his face suddenly became like a defensive wolf. His lips curled back to reveal his sharp teeth, and he snarled at the people outside.

Shetan visibly calmed down, his snarling dying down to heavy breathing and soft growls. His head whipped around towards the door when he heard the knock, and he tensed. He stared back down at her. "I trust you. But if they come in, I'm hiding."

One of the men in the group who was standing in the front looked at Ginny. "We're on the hunt right now for a creature we believe to be in the woods where your house is."
Ginny acted confused and her eyebrows furrowed together to add to it. "I don't understand. If you're talking about bear or wolf, there's plenty of them out here. Having a group of your size out and about would probably scare the poor animal away".
The man shook his head and tried to contain his frustration and anger at this point. "We're looking for a creature that isn't from this world. Several people from town went out to chase the beast away, but they never came back. When the medics came out to look for them, they found their mangled bodies...One of them was my son".
Shetan was listening with his great sense of hearing. He was standing a little bit close to the door, his head cocked to the side like a wolf as he listened. His teeth bared, and he felt a silent growl rising in his throat, but he made sure he didn't growl loud enough for them to hear him. That was the last thing he wanted. He started backing away from the door, choosing to hide anyway. He went into the bedroom.

The man produced his phone from his pocket letting out a sigh of frustration and exhaustion. "I want to show you something," he said at last. He played back a video for Ginny to see. It wasn't high quality, but it was visible as to what he wanted to show her.
Ginny's heart dropped into her stomach when she saw the video. It was of Shetan flying with his large wings: this wasn't too long ago. "Maybe it was this man's shout that Shetan and I heard earlier," she realized. She was grateful, though, that with she herself wasn't visible in the image. Her silhouettte gave Shetan a larger shape. "What is that thing?" she asked in a frightened whisper.
The man sighed "We were hoping that you might know seeing as you live out here."
Ginny shook her head "I'm sorry, but I've never seen anything like that before in my life."
Shetan closed the door once he was in the bedroom. He didn't even think of locking it. He was in Ginny's bedroom. He moved over and sat on the bed, waiting for Ginny to come back inside after making the people leave. He was frightened, very frightened inside.

Ginny nodded her head "I promise, if something goes wrong, I'll tell you".
"Good. Have a good night, and we apologize for coming by so late," the man then he and the group of people walked away from Ginny's house.
Ginny tried to close the door not too quickly so that the people would hear her. When she looked out her window, and saw that they were gone, she immediately hurried into her bedroom and saw Shetan sitting on her bed. She let out a sigh of releif and smiled at Shetan. "They're gone".
Shetan stood up immediately, running his fingers through his hair absentmindedly. He looked down at her and let out a huge sigh of relief, before he walked over to her and hugged her. "Thank you," he murmured thankfully in relief.

Shetan pulled back and looked down into her face. It was then for the first time that he realized just how beautiful she really was. He subconsciously reached up and moved some strands of hair away from her face in an affectionate way.

Shetan smiled gently and softly. "I can tell you're tired. You should get some sleep." He looked towards the window at the night that had fallen outside.

Shetan was still standing close to the doorway by her bed. He was so big that he would have to bend down every time he would have to go through a doorway. He looked at her. "I will," he murmured before he went over and lay down on the bed.

"Good night," Shetan said, closing his eyes. The room was very dark, almost too dark to see, although Shetan could see well.

Shetan's sleep was mostly dreamless, but there were moments where he dreamed of her. He smiled slightly, but then he frowned in his sleep as the nightmares kicked in. Him getting shot by the hunters, Ginny running to his side when he fell, Shetan breathing his last breath and dying. Shetan suddenly woke up, sitting up in bed. He breathed quietly and heavily, covering his face in his hands.

It was then that Shetan realized that he was crying, the tears flowing down his cheeks. Thinking that his voice would break if he talked, Shetan only nodded, still keeping his face in his hands. He began crying silently.

Shetan was quietly sobbing now, his body shaking a little from the sobs that were quiet but audible. His luxurious, wavy, black hair covered his back and draped over his broad shoulders, reaching down to the bed he was sitting on, and some of it was covering a bit of his face that in turn was covered by his hands. He choked back a sob and managed to speak between sobs. "But...what if...it really did happen? Me getting killed by the people....and you being left all alone to die of heartache and grief because I'm gone?"
