False, both sons and daughters are mentioned in the Bible. Gensis 5:4 ...and he fathered sons AND daughters.

What does the age of God have to do with this? God sent the angel, and then God made her pregnant, not got her pregnant. He's God, He can do anything.
....they had a problem with that back then.
Absolutely right. In Bible times if you got pregnant with someone who wasn't your husband, they'd stone you to death. That is why Joseph just wanted to call off the marriage quietly. He still loved Mary, but knew that what she had done was wrong.
However, God appeared to him in a dream and told him not to be afraid to still Mary marry, since the baby was sent from God and not of man.
And the whole born in a barn thing- God doesn't seem to be interested in child support here.
God didn't want Jesus to be born in a palace or anything, though he well could have had Him been. He wanted to show that He was humble, and that he cared for people. Now, back in Bible times, most kings and rich people looked down on the poor. That's not how God is. But it would have been hard to believe if he was raised with servants and fancy clothes and everything. God is humble.

So she cheated on her guy, and made up a lie to not get killed. Simple enough.

ROTFL. The best part of the whole quote is "I've never really thought about it before", though. That much is obvious.
Why not make her out of a Rutabaga? Or an airstream trailer? Or materialize her out of thin air? Oh, wait, maybe by making her out of part of Adam she became less than Adam, thereby justifying an entire history of the world where women are inferior to the sons of Adam. Y'think?
I have to admit. I may have met my match in term of posting volume and speed, although you're cheating -- block copying things from other websites -- where I'm mostly just typing the old fashioned way.
Before we really get going on Genesis -- what fun! -- let me know where you stand. I have you identified as a BICC -- Biblically Inerrant Conservative Christian, right? So if the Bible says that God created the world in six days, there is none of this "two billion years is like one day to God" nonsense of more liberal and less literal apologists? And where if it says Noah collected a pair of every species on earth, a pair at a time except where it was seven pairs, well, that's just what happened? And where you really believe that in Texas there is an example of a fossil human footprint right next to a dinosaur footprint?
And last, can you actually do any math? So if I were to, say, point out that to cover the earth to the top of Mount Everest (roughly 30,000 feet, 360,000 inches) in forty days and nights of rain (1440x40 = 57600 minutes) that corresponds to a ballpark figure of 6 inches of rain a minute for 40 days and 40 nights (and it means this literally, no "it rained a lot", not "it flooded some little river and a man saved some livestock"). Not a speck of myth or legend mixed in with that cereal, right?
You had me worried a bit when you asserted that there had to be something behind the story of Luke, although you are deeply mistaken when you assert that any of the gospels are anything like eyewitness accounts. Third, maybe fourth hand stories, liberally mixed in with myth is more like it, to the point where I find it difficult to convince myself that there is sufficient reason to believe that Jesus existed at all. And believe me, I do study this, and am studying it, and have read Josephus. One paragraph is a fairly obvious insertion. The other has the ring of truth to it (and isn't obviously out of character) but it was edited by a thousand years of Christians that would burn you at the stake for blasphemy and were as ready to fabricate evidence and lie as they are today (see the matter of those coins). It would take only three or four words removed from the second reference an Josephus was talking about a different event altogether, one that had nothing to do with Jesus. Not exactly grab you and shake you evidence, that.
There is nothing actually written from back then, and very little written from long after back then, that affirms Jesus's existence outside of the books preserved and edited and rewritten by the Church itself, which ruthlessly purged heresy and contradiction for 1500 years and controlled the "press" and educational system and library and usually the government for most of that time. Who knows what the truth is?

But as I stated, God is outside of time. His six days could have been longer or shorter than what we consider a 24-hour day today. Also, there wasn't a set calendar in Bible times yet, so that also may affect what God considered a day.
I'm just a regular Christian, I don't know what you're talking about with the other BIC.

same here I had a dream that my boobs were shriveled (this is a horrible example but it proves my point) and when I woke up guess what? THEY WEREN'T!

OH WAIT THERE WASN'T A SUN. So day is meaningless, so assigning a random number to it means nothing.
I think what he means is, are you a fundie or not?

That's an inch every 10 seconds isn't it? Is that a problem for it to rain a lot?

Not necessarily, but it does seem awfully coincidental he'd have the dream the same night.

What, Christians are supposed to be perfect and know everything? To have all the answers?
I'm not claiming too, that's why I have other sources. Nobody's perfect.

I think we've gotten TERRIBLY off topic!
Wow, this topic averaged like a page a day since it was started.
So, to restate the question and try to move us back on topic.....
What do you think happens when you die and can you prove that what you say is true?

That was in response to GreenDaisy. She simply said "You are dead". Just wanted to know what that meant. And she answered it. EXACTLY what Nathan said in shorter terms that I hope you can understand

I had pasta the next day. THAT MAKES ME JESUS!

There is nothing to go to an afterlife. Your body and mind are the same thing.

Dan wrote: "So I've started reading these links about the flood, and I must say, it is hilarious. The water came from under the Earth? "
Doesn't lava come from under the earth? Or inside the earth?
Doesn't lava come from under the earth? Or inside the earth?

And we all know that the earth is not hollow because if it was we would not have geothermal energy. Water doesn't just spontaneously rise up to the earth!
Dan wrote: "Is it not possible to believe in God without believing that 40 days and nights of rain could flood the Earth? "
Well, I don't see why we can't believe that if we believe the other miracles Jesus performed in the Bible.
