Tarvo The manifestation of his vision has a breathtaking clarity. Almost better than the films..

Ivan Think his writings are the statement of his filming way of life...
The point is that this book describes his standards and make his films more approachable like a "Bresson for Dummies"
But this are HIS standards and most of them are quite oldfashioned, sort of misantropist or barely ethic in my opinion but I love his film technique
And, for the record, he is on my Top5 of all time directors.

Mathew (sic) What's old fashioned?

Tarvo Exactly..

Mathew (sic) He is one of the few directors I wouldn't murder. I mean if he was alive. Don't like most others.
