Skylar x Josh/ Celine and Damian
Josh smiled and kissed him back slowly, oblivious now to Darren. His mind switched to a single track near nightfall.
Darren blinked hard and rubbed his eyes, looking around the room. They were beginning to irritate him again, as if there was sand in them.

Darren was quiet for a long time, and he just kept rubbing at his eyes as if he hadn't heard him. It was only until Josh turned around to look at him, that he got a little concerned. "Darren?" He asked, a little louder than Skylar had, and reached over to touch his hand. "Hey?"
At his touch, Darren jumped hard and snapped out of it. "Huh? What?"

"Who're y... Oh." Darren stopped suddenly and relaxed a little. "Sorry. I was thinking... about something else..." He looked away quickly and began playing with his fork, not unlike Josh did.
Although this could be viewed as a cute family trait, Josh knew it wasn't. In fact, it just made him all that more concerned. The fidgety side of him was picked up when he was first bitten. The scratchy eyes (when his eyes prepared to switch to black and white), the distantness (the invasion of another mind)... Even the cutting (to try and forget what was happening). But that just couldn't be. Of course, it wasn't even possible. Darren had never shown signs before, why should he now? He was probably just over-analizing everything.

Darren tried to seem as if he hadn't seen the look, yet he had. He just kept playing with his fork, flipping it over and bouncing it by the tines quietly. He swallowed and reached up to rub his eyes every now and then, but more discreetly now. "M'okay..."
Josh watched him carefully, glancing at Skylar every now and then just to see what he thought. Slurring his words together was another sign.

If you weren't there to see it, it would be difficult to believe one boy could eat so much in so little time without causing a lot of noise or fuss. In fact, you could hardly tell Darren was eating as fast as he was until you paid attention.
Josh just poked at his meal for a little while, but then got absorbed in watching Darren woof down his own. That was like when he had first started shifting. He had been hungry all the time, no matter the weather. It had been him building up his stamina and compensating for so much change so suddenly. As his body got used to the shifts every night, he actually started hating food every now and then. It was just strange how similar they were... And all by coincidence. "H-Hungry?"

Darren smiled briefly, and none too strongly before just putting his fork down. He was finished already. "Sorry."
Darren glanced at Josh, as if for extra permission. When his uncle just shrugged he turned to Skylar and nodded slowly. "Yeah... If that's okay..." He felt guilty asking for more, but he was just so hungry. It was a hunger that drilled it's way into his bones, into his mind, without mercy. Different than the normal hunger.
For a moment, Darren seemed to brighten a little and he just nodded enthusiastically. "No, that's good, thank you Skylar."
Josh blinked for a moment, trying to remember what he meant. Oh, "You sure?" He murmured back. "It was y...your idea..."
Josh smiled and little and nodded. "Kay, then..." He said quietly, and straightened up. "Darren?"
The boy looked up from his fork and blinked, waiting. "Yeah?"
"Uh," Josh glanced at Sky, as if for reassurance. "Uhm, Skylar an...and I-I were wondering if maybe you would l-like to go on our h...honeymoon cruise with us...?"

Darren just stared, not unlike he had when first told he would stay in Versailles Palace. "Huh?" He said blankly, until it set in. "Oh, really?" His eyes widened disbelievingly.
Darren put his elbows on the table and his mouth behind his hands, staring at Skylar and Josh with his intelligent grey/green eyes. His forehead creased in a frown and he let out a small breath. "You... Seriously want me to come?" He said quietly.
Darren smirked back and Josh turned a light pink as he looked away. "Then yeah, I'd love to come. If... If my parents let me..."
Josh frowned and said stiffly, "I think they'll let you." You could hear the protectiveness in his voice.

Darren couldn't help but smile a little, happy to have people who actually... Seemed to really love him. "Okay." He said simply, happily, as his extra food arrived.
"You're going to be full l-later..." Josh's own plate was only about half touched, but he knew what he was talking about.
Darren shrugged and kept eating. "It's one of the things I'm actually good at."

((Sounds excellent. I like the emotionalkenis :) ))
Josh glanced a Skylar when he felt his eyes on him, and gave him one of his unintentionally quirky smiles. "So, I th-think you probably picked the b-best restraunt in town, Sky... Never forget this dinner."
Darren nodded quickly in agreement, now concentrating on bouncing his fork again. "Yes."

Josh slowly shook his head, having just finished his own dinner, but Darren was on it immediately. "Yes." He said simply, but the enthusiasm showed in his voice.
He did, but the whole 'uncle in law' bit would take him a little while to get used to. Darren nodded again, with a bit if a smile, and started looking through the dessert menu. "I don't..." he began to frown. "Do dessert menus work the same as regular menus?" Obviously he never ate out with his parents.
He nodded once more, avoiding Skylar's eyes a little. After a moment he chose a simple blueberry pie. "This okay?" He showed Skylar the information.
Josh wasn't even paying attention. He was looking beside him at a piece of wonderfully done but horrific artwork depicting the terrible times in France. The artist did a very good job on the screaming faces, he noted grimly, trying not to imagine Skylar amid all that chaos.

Darren grinned, maybe the truest smile yet, and nodded again. "Thanks Sky..." The name came out a little awkwardly, but it was a great sign that he was warming up to him.
Josh turned around in his seat and tilted his head to the side, reaching over to give Skylar a long kiss on the cheek. "L-Love you too," he murmured.
Darren smiled quietly and began shredding his clean napkin into an unused glass, keeping his eyes downcast.

Josh was used to it compeltely by now, so he usually didn't notice. This time, however, he noticed because Darren sure gave his finacée a run for his money. Within only a few minutes his plate was clean. "Huh," Josh said after a moment. "I g-guess you guys have m-more in common than just me now."
"Yeah," Darren nodded, maybe a little grimmer than expected. "I'm sick alright." Somehow, it seemed like he meant something else.
Josh finished his wine and set the glass carefully onto the center of his plate. "So, we r-ready to go?"

Josh swung their hands as always, but gently. "This was r-really nice." He said after a while. "I knew it was b...best to leave the romantics to you..."
Darren trudged along behind them silently, his hands back in his pockets.

At this, Josh just kissed him back as hard as possible while not making too much of a scene. "It's m-my turn now?" He muttered as sensually as he could with a stutter.
Slowly, Josh closed his eyes and his face flattened. "I honestly d-don't kn...know if I can wait that long..." He said seriously.
Darren pinched the bridge of his nose and took a deep breath as he tried to keep up. The nausea was getting worse...

Josh shrugged and glanced back at Darren. "Dunno, actually..."
Darren gripped Skylar's hand tightly and held on as if it was the only thing keeping him up. He had a deep furrow in his brow, as if there was something really paining him, and he had to try hard to keep up.

((We have differnet time zones, I believe. Here it was more like 11:50, if my memory serves. It was a massive day yesterday...))
((Sure. But it's after dinner, so logically he should change really soon. Would it work if he's sick from it, and confesses a couple minutes before?))
((Oh yeah! Right, nvm. So as soon as they get onto the property it would stop, right? Or, for the sake of appearances, should we have him change before they get to the palace, and then switch back once he's under Robespierre's influence?))
"I know, I l-like being your bottom, don't worry." Josh smirked a little. He sighed for a long moment. "But, I guess I can w-wait a little longer... If I h-have to... I..." He paused, glancing back as he noticed how pale Darren was. "Y-You okay D-Darren?"
He began to nod, but then shook his head instead. Darren stopped in his tracks and shivered, letting go of Skylar to hug himself. Staring at the ground hard, he tried to force it back, put it off - at least until he got to the room...

((:D THAT'S PERFECT!))
Darren shook his head, inching away as he slowly got down to his knees. "I'm fine..." He said, his voice low and gruff. However, he was trembling, shaking like a leaf. His hands began to spasm a little, but he clenched them together tightly to stop them.
Josh's jaw dropped, his eyes widening. No... "Darren," He said, getting down on his knees with him. "You... H-Have you been..." He glanced at Skylar, to see if he recognized the symptoms like he did.

Darren looked up at the two and a low whine escaped him as a sudden pang of pain struck him in the gut. He took a few gasping breaths, everything swimming before his eyes sickly. There had never been a time he didn't want to change so badly. It had only happened to him about three times, but it already seemed like a lifetime. Darren just wanted to disappear, go somewhere else, safe in the woods or - no. Not the forest. He had to stay here with his uncle and Skylar. This was where he belonged. These people cared about him, they would accept him; no matter what form he was in. There was no doubt in his mind about it. Finally, although his secret was about to be discovered in only a few more minutes, he couldn't keep it anymore. Darren inched forwards on his knees and dropped onto Josh, his spasms causing mobility difficult. "Josh," He said, his voice pitching from a high whine to a low growl. "I... I can't... I'm not human..." He ducked his head and a bone popped to adjust his neck. "I'm... Going to... Change..."
Josh's breath caught in his throat and he let out a deep breath, reaching out and pulling Darren closer for comfort. "It's f-fine," he said quietly. "I know, I can t-tell. I know what's h-happening to you... I've done it..." He paused. "I'm so s-sorry you have this c-curse... I'll help you Darren..." It hurt him so much to see his nephew in the pain he knew so well.

Josh nodded, but then suddenly let go as the boy began to squirm uncontrollably. He looked away, giving him a certain amount of respect, as he finished shifting.
After several moments, Darren lay on the ground panting hard as the stream rolled off him and into the air. His reddish coat was hot to the touch, and a quiet and entirely animal-like whine came from him as the pain slowly began to go away. For the fourth time since he was bitten, Darren was a wolf.

((Sure, that looks good. :) ))
Josh sat back and watched, his teeth clenched tightly together in a kind of shock.
Darren was still for a long moment, and then his tail began to slide back and forth with increasing vigor. His head came up and he made a noise, wriggling away from him with wolfish giggles.

Darren slowly made it to his feet after escaping Skylar's tickling fingers. He swayed a little, but then got his ground. Looking up at Josh and Skylar, his ears flicked back and forth shyly.
Putting a hand on Skylar's forearm, knowing exactly how much he had helped, Josh reached out and put his other hand on Darren's head. He stroked past his ears and around his ruff carefully. "Oh Darren..."

Joah grinned a little and Darren gave a husky laugh, twisting his head back and nudging Skylar with his nose playfully as his tail whipped back and forth. He knew it. He knew they wouldn't let him down. But what had they said about Josh knowing what it was like? How come they weren't freaking out like what what would be normal? The question raced around his head, but now he couldn't ask anymore.
((Oh good. ^.^))
Josh blinked at him for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah," he said quietly, then gave his wolfish nephew a small smile. "Hey," he said to get his attention. Once Darren's eyes were focused on him, Josh took a deep breath, letting out; "I'm a w-werewolf too... And Skylar's a..." He glanced at him. "A v-vampire. But he's cool, so... Don't w...worry."
Darren's tail stopped wagging and he seemed to freeze on spot. What?

At first, Darren stood stiffly as Skylar hugged him. Then, slowly, he relaxed and his tail flicked back and forth. He couldn't blame them for not telling him to begin with... Truthfully, he felt that he would have been scared. Not of Josh, no, but a vampire... That was a little different.
Josh shifted so he was sitting cross-legged on the ground, and he reached out to pet his nephew around his still hot ruff.

Darren blinked at him, his eyes still the same color as they were when he was a human. He did trust him... Yeah, he did. Slowly, he nodded and licked the side of his face.
((I know, don't worry. ;) It takes ma while 'cause I'm also doing work at the same time...))
Darren trotted along behind them, putting his head underneath Josh's free hand as they walked.
Josh gave his nephew a small, sympathetic smile, and turned a corner to start up the front walk.

Josh lead them up the walk, through the gardens. He had to pause every now and then to pull Darren away from an interesting scent, knowing how difficult it was to ignore them. "'Come on," He opened the front door for him and Skylar.
Darren had never been so happy as a wolf before. The last few nights he had been hiding, painfully hiding outside in the trees.

Josh kissed him quietly on the lips as he passed by, letting out a relieved breath as the headache he had been ignoring slowly disappeared once he was inside.
Darren walked inside, shaking his coat to get rid of an itch. He lowered his nose to the floor and followed it a little ways before Josh grabbed him by the ruff, stopping him in his tracks. "Nuh uh. St...Stay here Darren." He smiled and let him go after making sure he had understood.

Darren gave him a wolfish smirk and shook his head, opening and closing his mouth as his mouth grew stale. Nah, he wasn't planning anything. He was just -
Suddenly he froze. His ears flattened onto his head and he coughed hard, his wolfish voice dry.
Josh frowned and knelt down to look at him. "Y-You okay? Wh...What's wrong?"

Josh smirked and got up, reaching over to dust the puppy off. So that's what it was. "He's white..." He murmured, ruffling the little dog's fur as he attempted to bring out his original brindle. "How'd he g-get in the kitchen?"
Darren looked up and sneezed himself, the flour dust catching in his throat. Maybe that's all it was... But still, something wasn't right... He felt a little sick again, a throbbing headache coming on. He shook his head and made a little grunting sound, trying to be rid of it.

Josh nodded, shrugging, and took the puppy from him. "Sure, be b-back in a little bit." He kissed him quickly and turned, starting upstairs to give their puppy a wash in the million dollar bathtub.
Darren had laid down, closing his eyes as the headache slowly grew worse. Maybe if he slept it would go away....

((Yep. He can get the sickness later on. Not at dinner, ew. lol))
