Just finished chapter 1... Mike and Kellan were reading Mahu mysteries!! I love it when fictional characters talk about other entertainment things (especially books) that I also enjoy haha.... Might continue this tomorrow morning (it's night for me here) so some of you might even finish first....

I just hit 38%. It's v late here. I should be sleeping. Must want to say, oh Kellan... Pull your head out.. (Still love him)

Just started! 2% in. Did anyone else google Edward R. Murrow or was it just me! :)
I was thinking of Googling it. But I thought I would do it after I finished because I didn't want it ti disrupt the look of Kellen in my head.

Mind you I just read how Mike looked according to Kellen when they first met and not too happy with the pic in my head for Mike either. I am sounding really shallow, aren't I? :)
I like that they both find themselves very normal and not hot, cause ERM and woody Allen on a bad day...yeh. Not hot. Lol
I'm about 1/2 in and so far it's as always with Kaje, well written and keeping me interested...it's a pretty heavy and serious books not just with Kellen's issues..all of it. I hope it gets a little happy at some point.And really what frustrates Kellan w/his mom is exactly what he's doing to mike...IMHO.
I am at 85%. Surely Kellan won't stuff it up again, anymore.... All this about mum is extremely distressing. I wonder how difficult it was for Kaje to write.

Also, I find Mike's awkwardness kinda cute, even at his age.
Yeah, I like Mike a lot, although he may be a bit too understanding and undemanding of Kellen, I think. I'm not likening the sexual chemistry between them, I'm not even sure why that is, but it doesn't work for me.
It does sometimes seem as if Mike is more committed to making their connection more serious, but I think Harper does a good job of building sympathy for the way Kellan's situation has impacted on him.I have just finished. Every book needs conflict and drama. There is a great balance between external factors (sick mum) and internal (ALL OF KELLAN)....
Still pondering my thoughts.

True, I think I said enough for now. I am letting everyone else catch up. Plus I doubt they will have the same issues as me.

Ok, stick a fork in me, I'm done. It was much heavier than I thought, and although Kaje wrote it well, I know I won't be rereading it.

My assumption for why Mike likes Kellen is exactly what you said! Can understand how the shared love of books provided the initial push but I have yet to see their relationship moving much into the personal space.

Don't worry Ds. I'm only 15% and it's 9:45pm so not sure how much I will get read tonight. (The book is not totally drawing me in to stay up too late unfortunately!)
