This fantastic event will be hosted at Formby Gild Hall Weds 12th June 1pm

It is possibly the best book you will read this year! It is exceptionally well written, it tugs at the heart strings and leaves you feeling emotionally drained.
Some of us were lucky to read this sensational book in 2012 and started to fall in love…
Set just after the most cataclysmic event of the 20th Century…The ‘Great War’ and especially a period of involvement of our brave Australian allies in Gallipoli, this book takes us on a journey of decisions and consequences like no other.
Imagine the dying away from home, being left rotting in frozen trenches in another continent, the sheer abject terror of it all. Then, if you were lucky enough to survive…You return to an empty and desolate home with no friends and no work. But, there is a glimmer of hope…a job… It is hard and meticulous and lonely…
You could become a Lighthouse Keeper! Better get a ‘Sheila’ at the village dance when you are back onshore.
Very, very lonely on the rock.
So, the scene is set…
Tom and his wife run ‘Their Lighthouse’ by the book, meticulous record keeping and a harmonious life of love and devotion, then trouble is thrown in, they want, but have no baby.
However, a storm brings a wreck with a body and a blessing, a new born child with no sign of a mother, having been seen as six months pregnant, Izzy pleads with Tom…can we ‘break the rules’ Let’s look after the baby we have been blessed with and sort things out later…Tom struggles to agree but does understand that love matters...
So, whose is the baby? Can Izzy and Tom keep it? The events that unfold and the simplicity of rules and devotion make this book stand out; it is seriously going to make you cry!
But we want you to join us and Margot to discuss the matter.
So please spread the word and make this book event the best one we possibly can.
If you are in a ‘Book Club’ or are just a singular ‘Book Lover’ this is the book for you!
