It is possibly the best book you will read this year! It is exceptionally well written, it tugs at the heart strings and leaves you feeling emotionally drained.
Some of us were lucky to read this sensational book in 2012 and started to fall in love…
Set just after the most cataclysmic event of the 20th Century…The ‘Great War’ and especially a period of involvement of our brave Australian allies in Gallipoli, this book takes us on a journey of decisions and consequences like no other.
Imagine the dying away from home, being left rotting in frozen trenches in another continent, the sheer abject terror of it all. Then, if you were lucky enough to survive…You return to an empty and desolate home with no friends and no work. But, there is a glimmer of hope…a job… It is hard and meticulous and lonely…

However, a storm brings a wreck with a body and a blessing, a new born child with no sign of a mother, having been seen as six months pregnant, Izzy pleads with Tom…can we ‘break the rules’ Let’s look after the baby we have been blessed with and sort things out later…Tom struggles to agree but does understand that love matters...
