Leslie | 17 comments Hi! I'm Leslie. I just joined goodreads about two weeks ago and I'm still learning my way around.I found this group and thought it looked fun. Hope to have some great conversations. My favorite genres are paranormal, mystery, classics, and historical fiction but I'll read almost anything. I'm constantly looking for new books to read and am looking forward to suggestions.

Kim-Lost-In-A-Book Welcome Leslie. I'm fairly new here myself but this is a fun, active group. Hope you enjoy it.

Yasmin | 8 comments Hi Leslie, I'm new to Goodreads too. I like fantasy, sci-fi, postmodern, historical, the odd romance, and psychological thrillers- most things basically. Currently reading Enders Game and totally loving it :)

Kim-Lost-In-A-Book Welcome Yasmin!

message 10: by Sherry, Doyenne (new)

Sherry | 8261 comments Welcome to Constant Reader, Yasmin. I listened to Ender's Game as an audiobook and really enjoyed it. I listened to a couple others in the series, but none of the others were as good as that first one.

Leslie | 17 comments Thanks everyone! Also welcome to Yasmin and Misty!!

message 12: by Lvrin (new)

Lvrin | 1 comments Hi, im Lorin. Dont mind my username. Well, im new here. And even though i've had this account for more then two weeks, im still alittle lost. My favorite genres are Mystery, Romance, Thrillers, Fantasy and sometimes non-fiction. Soooo, hey guys!

message 13: by Sherry, Doyenne (new)

Sherry | 8261 comments Hello Lorin. Glad you found us. We rarely discuss those genres, but we do non-fiction often. Join in!

message 14: by CatWrangler (new)

CatWrangler | 6 comments Hello, everyone, I am Ema, my favourite genres are like Yasmin's only not in that order. I would put psychological thrillers in the first place.

Also, I have a bad habit of starting too many books at the same time and not finishing them.

message 15: by Sherry, Doyenne (new)

Sherry | 8261 comments Welcome, Ema.

message 16: by Shawn (new)

Shawn | 113 comments Hey Leslie, let's compare notes on paranormal. Haven't read many though. I'm branching outside my usual uber lit reads (Jhumpa Lahiri is a favorite).

We will be discussing The Moonstone in a few months. It is considered one of the first mystery stories ever written. Hope you can join the discussion.

I read so much of it. I just finished reading a lot of Charlain Harris books. I also enjoy Laurell K Hamilton and Kim Harrison (I think most people consider them dark fantasy though). I also like Sherrilyn Kenyon and Kresley Cole. I'm getting ready to read this author I discovered via Amazon. His name is Nicky Charles and his entire series is free to download on your Kindle. All the books had great reviews so I figured I'd give them a try.

message 19: by Shawn (new)

Shawn | 113 comments Leslie! I had to do an exclamation. I read all of Nicky Charles books in one week. I found them to be really special. They were my first paranormal reads and I loved them. She's a really great person too. She chats with us on her facebook page. She's awesome.

message 20: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 17 comments Really Shawn?! That's awesome! Now I'm even more excited to begin reading the series.

Shawn | 113 comments :) Happy reading Leslie. Let me know what you think. This is great!

message 22: by Shawn (new)

Shawn | 113 comments Leslie I forgot to tell you that Bonded was the first in case you wanted to read them in order. It may not matter though but I started with that one.

message 23: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 17 comments Oh! Thanks Shawn! I was going to start with the wrong book first.

Ken Sell | 2 comments Hi, joined about one minute ago. I am wondering if there are any readers/writers like me around. I used to read a wide range of novels but in recent years have found that the author's writing style often puts me off during the first chapter, how ever much I might be interested in the story. This includes authors who get their name over the title. I write psychological novels under the name D.W. Carver so have to think about style of course; but I have this nagging feeling that some of our most well known writers just aren't that good.

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi, I'm new, kinda, I joined a couple of days ago, but this is my first comment. I was wondering if there's any physics or philosophy readers here.
