Ideally Aishwarya Rai, but practically...Ileana D'Cruz? She certainly looks the part.
Angelina Jolie if its made is Hollywood... If i'm not wrong, even Hollywood has taken the rights for making the movie...
Should the trilogy ever come to the big screen, I'd be looking forward to small screen actors Mohit Raina and Debina Bonnerjee to play Shiva and Sati.
The Shiva Trilogy is a great read, not sure if the movie will be a good watch.
The role can be played only by someone who can dance gracefully. Sreedevi, Madhuri, Aishwarya are the only ones who have that flexibility. As an actor though I prefer Viday but I doubt her dancing skills.
anyone but not Vidya Balan and Deepika Podukone, yuk, terrible actress, cant even imagine them as Sati

Priyanka as this needs seriousness with beauty. She can also perform action needed at places.
Anyone but Priyanka, Aishwarya Rai and Kareena Kapoor.
I personally feel that they would not suit the character of Sati.

varying from above comments ....... I think yami gautam(lead actress in Vicky donor) would be a good choice for sati.
madhuri dixit would also be nice but that depends on who shiva is.
