Vicki (goodreadscomboobooper49) | 31156 comments Good for you, Sami, you made a thread for a buddy read! I'd join you but I really am too bogged down with buddy reads and Net Galley books right now. I have to redeem myself. I want to hear how you both like it though.

Ohh, I've always wanted to read that book. The cover is beautiful as well!

message 7: by Yoly (new)

Yoly | 642 comments I will read it too :) How much we will read it each day?

message 8: by Trinity (new)

Trinity (tsundokuproblem) We are still deciding on that. We'll let you know soon :)

message 9: by Yoly (new)

Yoly | 642 comments I think the book is short, so maybe we can read the book this weekend and comment in Monday? Is just an idea.

message 10: by Trinity (new)

Trinity (tsundokuproblem) I agree. We can just read and then share our thoughts on Monday. Great idea! :)

I'm on page 124 right now. I recently just picked it up again since I stopped about an hour ago. I can't wait to hear what you guys think! :)

Sami | 793 comments Ohmygosh you read so fast!! Are you enjoying it?? I need to shut up and read for a bit don't I :D

I think you read much faster than I do! I am enjoying it! It's nothing spectacular, but it's a really cute book.

No, not at all :) I enjoy the company!

message 17: by Sami (new)

Sami | 793 comments Great :D I've just read the first few pages and already it's my worst fear come true - being a few minutes late for something and having to waste several hours because of it. (Although with me it's the train, not a plane)

Haha! It's kind of hard for me to imagine the scenery when she's in The United Kingdom because I've never been there :/

message 19: by Sami (new)

Sami | 793 comments Ooh what time zone are you typing from then? It's 1:30am here (I'm awake cause I slept all day lol).

Also the scenery here's quite pretty!! Drab because it's always rainy, but I'm told the view when driving down the motorway (highway) is really pretty compared to other countries, as we have really hilly countryside, with different coloured fields depending on the flowers/crop being grown. I'll have to see what it says in the book though! :)

Ooh so a... 5 hour time difference then :). Yes, you must come!! It's quite nice for book-lovers, if you dont mind the weather :)

message 23: by Trinity (new)

Trinity (tsundokuproblem) I actually like the rain sometimes :)
I can just curl up with a good book!

message 24: by Yoly (new)

Yoly | 642 comments I'm about to finish and is really cute and easy to read.

I lived in Mexico and is 23:28 right now. I want to go to UK too. Specially to London :)

message 25: by Yoly (new)

Yoly | 642 comments After seen a movie I just took the book again and I finish it.

4 stars :)

:D Well that's ok then! We just get sick of the constant drizzle.

Yoly you should come too :D I'd love to go to Mexico, heard it's very hot there!!

Sami | 793 comments I'm near the beginning unfortunately (had guests).

But they're still on the plane and gosh the way Oliver talks!! I'm pretty sure the author is American because Brits do NOT actually talk like that.. unless they're like 75 years old. It's making it hard for me to read.

message 28: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments lol Sami! Thanks goodness we have a real Brit here :) I love British accent by the way :)

message 29: by Trinity (new)

Trinity (tsundokuproblem) I love the accent too!

message 30: by Gisbelle (new)

Gisbelle | 25787 comments Yeah :) One of my friends used to do a British accent after she watched a British TV show. It was so funny!

message 31: by Sami (new)

Sami | 793 comments Gisbelle wrote: "lol Sami! Thanks goodness we have a real Brit here :) I love British accent by the way :)"

:D I'll take that as a compliment, seeing as I have one! :)

message 32: by Sami (new)

Sami | 793 comments Oh no! I just got to the part where she realises why Oliver is in England. I like it when there's a twist I didn't foresee.

message 33: by Trinity (new)

Trinity (tsundokuproblem) That's how I felt too! I thought he was going to a wedding!

message 35: by Sami (new)

Sami | 793 comments I knowww, that part was sad. And interesting. I liked the ending too. After you said you didn't know how to feel about it, I thought he wouldn't come back and she'd never see him again. I thought the point of the story would be the quote from the book, "No one is useless in this world,” it reads, “who lightens the burden of it for any one else.”"

ALSO WHAT WAS HIS RESEARCH PROJECT REALLY ABOUT

message 36: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) I really enjoyed this one and how it is entitled :)

message 37: by Sami (new)

Sami | 793 comments It is clever isn't it :)

message 38: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) It is a cute read. I don't really believe in love at first sight though.

message 39: by Trinity (new)

Trinity (tsundokuproblem) Now I'm wondering what'll happen to Hadley and Oliver when she has to go back home.

message 40: by Yoly (new)

Yoly | 642 comments I'm wondering about that too!!

But a second book I don't think is a good idea. I think everyone can make a choice and decide what will happens with them.

@sami maybe in 2 years I will go to London :) and yes Mexico is really hot.

Sami | 793 comments Trinity wrote: "Now I'm wondering what'll happen to Hadley and Oliver when she has to go back home."

She said his college, Yale, is really close to her home. Hopefully they'll stay together at least for a little while.

:D Tell me when you do we can go to bookstores together :D!

message 43: by Trinity (new)

Trinity (tsundokuproblem) I also don't think a second.book is a good idea even though we have so many questions! Do you think her mom said yes? :) I want to read the companion novel. It's a completely different story though.

message 44: by Yoly (new)

Yoly | 642 comments @Trinity I was thinking the same actually I feel sad about her mom she seems like a really nice person and she was so strong. I hope she can take the chance of love again.

message 45: by Sami (new)

Sami | 793 comments There's a companion novel? Cool

@Yoly, do you think there's a tiny chance her mum was saying no because she saw her daughter's strong reaction to her father's marriage and didn't want to upset her even more?

I hope so too! I'm glad the man she's dating hasn't given up on her!

I don't think so because she wanted her mom to say yes, and I think she liked the man her mom was dating. Maybe her mom wasn't ready...

message 48: by Trinity (new)

Trinity (tsundokuproblem) This Is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E. Smith

This is the other book by the same author.

message 49: by Yoly (new)

Yoly | 642 comments @Sami I think the same than Trinity about her mom.

Actually I think she is still in love with her ex, and that's why she didn't say "yes" I think when she forget him completely she will marry with his actual boyfriend.
