This was quite the fun story. I really enjoyed it - especially how it ended. A bit of a different take.

But - it was SO short, I didn't think it was worth the $1 price point for an ebook. (Less than 20 pages worth?) It was also so short that describing any of the story would be a spoiler.

I picked it up but hadn't had a chance to read until now. Was decent. I largely knew what to expect just from the premise but there were some nice touches that took me by surprise and Dementius made an interesting lead. I feel like more could've been done with Grunt.

I was impressed with how pop culture references were incorporated as character points rather than just thrown in. It got a little too silly at times for me but the humor generally worked, although I feel like I missed several in-jokes.

I've kind of gotten used to the $.99 price point for short stories and length doesn't bother me if they're good enough, but here I agree it should have been longer or bundled with another story.
