i find it most difficult to think of good plot lines. i usually think of things while my teacher is saying... something but i can never write it down.
Sometimes the plot is suggested by the most logical thing the characters would do in their situation. And it just goes on from there.
For me the hardest point is the beginning to middle. Keeping interest in my book as my readers should as not burning out before i even get to the end.
I'm trying to write my first book. The hardest for me is not totally obsessing over obscure details and dialog. Why on earth is it so hard to figure out the normal way a conversation flows?! LOL
@RachelWhat i normally do is get friend to kinda act out the scene i picture in my head. And then i mimic it in how the characters would say it. Hope that helps

Good idea although could be a bit embarrassing for some of my scenes!
I have used the text to speech feature on my computer as well. That is a good editing tip I got from Goodreads which I have recently started using. Very good for dialogue.
exactly. Me and my friend normally do it cause we are both writing books and are basing characters off one another. Like i have 2 main characters and the best friends of main charrie 1 is based off her. And her main character's bff is based off me and another girl.
The hardest part about writing is having the dedication, drive and conviction to put the words onto paper and keep writing. I found this out when i took part in National Novel writing month for the first ever time in 2012. It is one thing talking about writing something {i.e. a novel or WIP} but it is quite another thing actually doing it.

I'm not sure I'd say that was the hardest thing about writing, but the very definition of being a writer. It's staying at your desk typing when others around you go out for a meal or a movie. I think it's really the bare minimum required, hard or not.
