Your character would just have to be old enough to be in the Royal guard when my character was twelve.

At the very least you character could be seven years older then Leo, making him Twenty Six.(In this case Leo could refer to him as his "older brother")

Or your character could have already been older and be in his like forties or something.

There are three ways in which you can join the Royal Guard.

1.) By birth into the class.

2.) By joining the force but remaining in your class. ie a Noble could be in the guard but he would still be considered a noble and marry other nobles.

3.) Severing all ties to your previous class and family. This means you would disown your biological family in keeps for the Royal Guard, becoming a member of the class and unable to look back.

Trickery option number three means Mr. Noble and Miss Servant can both join the Royal Guard and marry without any breaking of the law. It doesn't happen often though... choosing love over blood.

Those who are excited about this loop hole should really think about it deeply. The characters would literally be giving up everything for a person--what if it isn't what they thought it would be? There's no going back--the class you left hates you now. You're a traitor.

Like seriously. What if you left being a Noble for Jenny and then the next day she mysteriously dies?
