I had a hard time getting into this book early on, but it really picks up after a hundred or so pages. I think if I read it again, I'd like it more. I first read it years ago, back when I hadn't really read much romance.
I liked this one, but hate the name Malachi because it reminds me of the character from The Children of the Corn, lol Loved Gideon and Jack though!
I've not read this one yet. Yeah, Teryl--Malachi will ALWAYS be the freaky redhead from Children of the Corn.

For me, the name Malachi brings back the memory of a little boy I once taught preschool. Though nothing like the character in this book, little Malachi was adorable, so I like the character immediately.
LOL at Children of the Corn affiliation...good thing I stayed away from that movie! I really liked this book...my favorite couple was Gideon and the stripper...only Nora could make you like a stripper heroine!! Rebecca and Jack too. The heroine for Malachi really got on my nerves for some reason.
Believe it or not, this is one of the 3 titles that I have not read by NR, I've checked it out twice and I never got to it. I think I don't want to read it because if I do then I've pretty well have covered all her works, (except that elusive title that she refuses to have re-issued). If I keep it unread; then mentally I know there's still "that one book" that I need to get to! :D
I completely understand SherryD...I'm completely done with Nora's single title ...and it's so depressing...I'm on pins n' needles waiting for Black Hills' to be released! I'm almost done with her Silhouettes too, probably a couple out there I've missed. My other fave authors are Sandra Brown and Linda Howard...have read everything written by them too...sucks just waiting for that single title they release every year!!
Hoo Rah on the Linda Howard!!! I also enjoy Elizabeth Lowell, Catherine Coulter and of course there is my fav of fav's, (don't tell Nora!) Jayne Ann Krentz! LOL
I just read an old Silhouette by Elizabeth Lowell that I liked...have checked out a Catherine Coulter from the library which is in my TBR pile...what's Jayne Ann Krentz like?
One of her best is
All Night Long
She also writes as Amanda Quick those are historicals, also
Jayne Castle which is her futuristic/romance/suspense and her earlier works are under 2 other names.
If you want to give her a try, All Night Long or Smoke in Mirrors, either of those 2.
I am also having a hard time getting into this book. I started it a week ago and am only 70 pages in. Normally I finish a book in 3 days. This is the first Nora book that I have had this much trouble getting into.
I absolutely love this book. It is on infinite re-read mode. Tia and Malachi are my favorite couple although the other 2 are not far behind. I love how Jack just knew Rebecca was perfect for him, and he for her. I also enjoy the sparks between Cleo and Gideon. And the Sullivan Ma was so wonderful.
I got this new off the presses and was so excited when it came out. Turned out I couldn't get through it. The stories just didn't flow and it felt kind of like it was quilted wrong. I was so bored. This was the only Nora book I couldn't read. I tried again and same thing. Instant boredom. I feel like if I can just get to mid book it might pick up...maybe? I'm definitely going to keep trying as I have read every one of her books. Anyone else have this problem?

When the Lusitania sank, more than one thousand people died. One passenger, however, survived to become a changed man, giving up his life as a petty thief but keeping a small silver statue that would become a family heirloom to future generations.
Now, nearly a century later, that heirloom, one of a priceless, long-separated set of three, has been snatched away from the Sullivans. And Malachi, Gideon, and Rebecca Sullivan are determined to recover their great-great-grandfather's treasure, reunite the Three Fates, and make their fortune.
The quest will take them from their home in Ireland to Helsinki, Prague, and New York and introduce them to a formidable female professor whose knowledge of Greek mythology will aid them in their quest; to a daring exotic dancer who sees the Fates as her chance at a new life; and to a seductive security expert who knows how to play high-tech cat-and-mouse. And it will pit them in a suspenseful fight against an ambitious woman who will stop at nothing to acquire the Fates.
