I read The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in elementary school, but it has been long enough that I cannot remember much about it. As the movie adaptation goes, I have seen it many times and I can't keep track (By the way, I do like the movie). I also watched Scottsbluff High School's version of the Wizard of Oz and I enjoyed it very much.
I read The Wizard of Oz and the rest of the series when I was growing up. I think my parents may still have the entire set at their house. I've seen the movie version, a few stage versions, and the movie version of "The Wiz", and enjoyed them all. One thing I've always found interesting is that the color of Dorothy's shoes were changed for the movie...they're silver in the book.
I have read the Wizard of Oz, seen the movie, and participated in the 2012 SHS musical production. There is a great documentary called "Origins of Oz" on the Smithsonian Channel's website that details L. Frank Baum's creation of the books and also compares it to the movie.http://www.smithsonianchannel.com/sc/...
Oooo Angie that link looks sweet! I'm going to have to watch it when I am not at work :)
I am currently in the process of reading the original, which make Wicked that much more interesting!
