It's one of his new ones. I can't wait to read it. You're welcome, Warren.

Two new King books are coming out:

Doctor Sleep (The Shining, #2) by Stephen King Doctor Sleep

and Joyland.

The book I'm eagerly awaiting is The Abominable A Novel by Dan Simmons . I loved The Terror. And I am very interested in Everest. Can't wait to read this book!

Greg | 14 comments Traci, I agree about THE ABOMINABLE!

Janie (janig) | 3 comments Impossible question to answer :)

Carl I. | 608 comments For upcoming books, I third the vote for THE ABOMINABLE. It is the first book (or anything) that I am pre-ordering.

I am in the middle of THE TERROR, and I love how well Simmons is pulling me out of my tiny little town in the middle of the US, in the beginning months of summer, and is dropping me smack dap in the middle of the polar region in 1847! I'm a longtime fan of Simmons, but I have to say he has never been this good at placing the reader right in the situation.

The Terror was my first Simmons and I absolutely loved it.

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Why am I having trouble getting into The Terror? Am I just intimidated?

message 20: by Carl (new)

Carl I. | 608 comments It kicked it around page 120 for me.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I had to get past the first 100 pages too. And I almost gave up before then. I'm glad I kept with it.

message 22: by Carl (new)

Carl I. | 608 comments It also takes a bit to figure out where and at what time the story is in. In those first hundred pages the reader bounces between before the expedition, the first freeze of the expedition, and the current time of the rest of the book. It also doesn't help that Simmons decides to stick to accuracy and actually has incorrect dates in the book, which makes it that much more confusing as to how certain events seem to be happening at the same time.

But move past that first point of finding the hole is the ship leading into the ice, and it gets moving. I am slowly becoming very interested/obsessed with this whole arctic expedition thing that was going on. Those guys were friggin' crazy.

message 23: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments I may pick it up again after the June group read is over.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

It got better for me when I saw how the timelines fit together. My major problem starting the book was in the first chapter everything is already happening. But there is a pattern to the chapters. And I enjoyed it more when I figured out what it was.

message 25: by Carl (new)

Carl I. | 608 comments Not sure I have completely figured out the pattern, but I am not as confused, especially once I realized one of the people leaving dates was leaving incorrect dates.

I also am finding it easy to read due to loving the character of Crozier.

Newton Newton | 20 comments Such a difficult question to answer! I think I would have to opt for either Barker's complete Books of Blood or King's The Shining.

Nessa S (nessascalera) | 8 comments The ring by koji Suzuki eng. translation. Only my dad says I cant read it until im fifteen. And the library cant get it

message 31: by Kathy (new)

Kathy | 41 comments For me, it would be Ghost Story by Peter Straub. The movie was pretty creepy too!

Rachel | 1434 comments Like purchase and then never buy another book again? http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h... The 25th Anniversary edition of IT by Stephen King. I love that book and this edition looks amazing. Go big or go home.

message 33: by TJ (new)

TJ (coachtim30) | 41 comments It would have to be The Stand for me.

message 34: by Squire (new)

Squire (srboone) | 1043 comments A first print, un-price clipped, un-remaindered copy of Salem's Lot with all three errors on the perfect dust jacket.

Of course, I'll need about 100K to get it.....

message 35: by Carly (new)

Carly (queen_of_darkness) | 175 comments @Nessa you can buy The Ring on amazon, that's where I got my copy, it's a good book.

The legend of sleepy hollow, would be the book that I would want... It's a classic.
