What is this book modeled after?

I haven't read this book in a while and am trying to remember if it modeled itself after any of the classics it referenced. Like how "Angel's Game" was modeled after "Great Expectations" and "Jane Eyre," and "Prisoner of Heaven" is modeled after the "Count of Monte Cristo." So far, to my recollection, SOTW, while referencing many, seems to stand alone. Am I wrong?

I loved this book! Not sure if it was modeled after any others, I stumbled upon it accidentally, had never heard of it before, and wow - what a great read!

I have heard that it's modeled after "The Club Dumas", by Arturo Perez Reverte.

Keep me posted. I will look for it. Although my "To Be Read" stack is huge! I keep buying books because they look great and I want to read them, knowing my 'free time' is limited. Unfortunately. If I ever retire, I am going to read all day, every day :)
