Dartmoor…The Saving: by B J Burton...This is a warm-hearted story of a group of ‘Little People’ or ‘Dini’ who are struggling to survive as their world is becoming more encroached by humans. They live in the wild moors of Dartmoor and the writer brings this wilderness to life well within his story. It uses a clever mixture of folklore and Arthurian legends, to help weave a lovely story with realistic characters and a sound plot. But more than this, I loved the emotions within the book, and the love of nature and the wildlife around us all; that the writer managed to instil into his story. This is a book that could be perfect night time reading for children, or for anyone to settle down and relax too. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it and look forward to starting the sequel and finding out what happens next to the Dini.
