Jack (Reader Reborn) (readerreborn) Personally, I think they help because they encourage more discussion. Plus, there's the whole spoilers risk. But I understand that some people just can't read that way, and sometimes it just isn't possible. Anyway, here's the schedule I propose:

Day- Chapters
1---- Prologue, 1, 2
2---- 3, 4
3---- Catch Up/Discussion Day
4---- 5, 6
5---- 7, 8, 9
6---- Catch Up/Discussion Day
7---- 10, 11
8---- 12, 13
9---- Catch Up/Discussion Day
10--- 14, 15, Epilogue
11--- Final Discussion Day/Possible Meet Up

Are you proposing that we only discuss on the discussion days? I would suggest adding a couple of days to make it an even 2 weeks. (I just like the symmetry.) Maybe have 2 catch up/discussion days at a time?

But it sounds good to me.

Krystal I like the idea of chapters vs pages per day

Jack (Reader Reborn) (readerreborn) Adris, no! Discussion can be had on any day, just like on day 4, for instance, don't post anything in the main discussion thread about anything that happens after chapter 6, and so on.

As for the two weeks thing, you don't have to follow that reading schedule precisely, but I figure we should stick with a formula considering we aren't always going to read the same length of book. I'm definitely up for amending the formula if you think this one is too demanding.

I still think that if you get behind, 1 day may not be enough time to catch up. But you know how I am about reading, it's more likely that I'll have trouble stopping. I don't know, probably there is no right answer. Let's try this one out and see how it works. We can adjust it in the future as necessary.

Jack (Reader Reborn) (readerreborn) If someone falls behind they can just ask the group to stop an extra day?

Jack (Reader Reborn) (readerreborn) What do you think about us using the status update thing to our advantage? We can post our thoughts exactly as we read and avoid spoilers. We can read each other's status updates and then have a thread back here to discuss further as we read/when we finish. Sometimes there is something in the middle of a chapter that really speaks to me, but by the time I'm done with the reading for the day, I come here, and I forget all about that one line in the middle of the first chapter of the day. This way it's more like... live tweeting the book!

I like it! How does that avoid spoilers, though?

Jack (Reader Reborn) (readerreborn) Because if something happens on page 150 that you post about, your status update will say you are on page 150. So if I'm not there, I just don't read what you wrote. Also, I don't know if you know about (view spoiler) but they do exist.

Ok, I get it.

Jack (Reader Reborn) (readerreborn) Although I'm now realizing that our page counts won't match up. :/

Good point...put the chapter in the update? Last time Krystal and Jacob went by chapters and percent completed instead of pages. I'm not too concerned about spoilers.
