Deleting bogus authors?

I corrected a book that had three authors' names listed in one field, but I don't know what to do with the bogus author page that the system created. There are no books associated with it now, so will it be deleted automatically?

I think they do delete eventually, but if you want to make sure it's gone, just merge it into another author (though make sure you select to keep the real author's profile so no info will be lost).

Merging author profiles can be done by changing the name on the incorrect profile to the exact name of a "real" author.

I like to merge bogus profiles into "Various" to avoid possibly losing data.
