Differences between the editions (solved)

I'm about to buy this book as a gift, but I'm unsure about the differences between its hardcover editions. The one published by the Bantam Dell Publishing Group has 317 pages, while the one published by Thorndike Press has 547 pages. At least according to my sources.

If anyone owns either of these editions, could you help me a bit? Are the page numbers correct? Do you know why one of them has 230 pages more than the other? Does your edition have pictures (I know the recipient would like them), and of what quality? Any other ideas?

I did some some research and found out that the one published by Thorndike Press is a large print version, meaning it's for those with poor vision. Problem solved.
