More than half the world’s population are concentrated in urban areas, and this is having an effect not just culturally, but biologically too. And advances in technology are adding an entirely new dimension to people’s lives.
Interesting. However, it states that living in cities is changing us biologically & genetically, but it doesn't say how. In what ways are we changing biologically? Genetically, yes, people are probably becoming more homogeneous but the author doesn't really go into that in any detail or with any authority. In fact most of the article goes off into technological megacities.
The major social change due to large city living is that we have become used to interacting with strangers all day. We're often anonymous. I'm not sure we're mentally suited to anonymity, since we've spent most of our existence as a species in small groups. It may be worth pondering how we can reduce anonymity in society, it's not primarily an Internet problem.
