I think in the book, they didnt explain about Erris' past as much as Nimira's, and all that they did explain, i forgot as soon as i finished the book. i would really appreciate it if someone would summarize his past.

it also doesnt explain the connection between erris, garvin, and Karstor. And one last thing... who turned erris into the automaton? i thought it was Ordorio, but i cant remember

Erris's past wasn't explained much at all. It would have made this book better if we'd found out more about his past. The lack of development in this area was just another disappointment.

I just recently read this book, and I don't remember who put his spirit in the automaton, either. It might have been Ordorio, since he was doing experiments with the "death sleep" and putting spirits into clockwork objects... but I don't remember why or how Erris came to be in that state; I don't even remember if we were told!

To be frank, I expect the stories I read to be a bit more memorable. I read this less than a month ago, and I barely remember any of the plot points.
