You are correct, Maria Helena. It must be on their "view books" - or display shelf - for the TTRC, which indicates it has been since April 12th.

Thanks you've helped clear that up for me as well.

Zara's Retreat In light of the clarification made by the mods I have moved the books around for Dragana. As a result we have got all the "L's" covered thanks.

We still have 21 letters to get for the spell-it-out so there are still plenty to choose from. We can of course do this one more than once I believe.

That's fine Dragana. I think you and I were both confused by this challenge but now I understand that particular challenge a bit better. I shall have to go and hunt the enemies's shelves now.

Since most of the books I read are ARCs and I read them for my blog there are slim chances that some other team member will have them on their read shelf and to fit the requested read time range. but I will still look just in case. :)

Hi Dragana, please pardon my ignorance, but what does ARC stand for?

message 59: by Dragana (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Zara wrote: "Hi Dragana, please pardon my ignorance, but what does ARC stand for"

ARC=advanced reading copy
Basically it's a book or an ebook that is distributed before publication date. If you have a blog where you write your book reviews you can get ARCs in ebook format at NetGalley or Edelweiss. If you like writing book reviews and reading this is perfect way to save a little bit of money and help authors to promote their work.

Skandia, I think this would also work for Category #3, as the team behind is is Atomic Orange, and the background definitely looks orange to me.

Hi Skandia. Thanks for this. The Nora Roberts book cover definitely looks like an orange cover albeit a lighter orange but there are many different shades.

I'll add this to your tally. well done.

Hi Maria Helena. Am I right in assuming that you like Susan Mallery? I think I may have to read some of her books particularly when you seem to read so many of them. They must be good.

I do. They're part of a long series and an easy read. A bit similar to Robyn Carr's books (but not quite as good).

Thanks Dragana. I've added it to #6 as we no longer need any "T's" for #5.

message 84: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat I'm hoping someone can help clarify something for me please.

With the 'spell it out' challenge (#5) are we supposed to get all letters accounted for before saying we've completed the challenge? Or is it just 7 letters accounted for to say we've completed it? If so, then we can say we've completed C#5 twice already as we have completed 14 letters so far.

Request: Could you all please keep a list of all the books you've read (along with their suggested categories) and either PM it to myself, Maria Helena or Leonie so that they can be added to the spreadsheet on a page I'll be setting up for this purpose, as I suspect we may have to include them when I post that we have finished either of the spell it out challenges.

Thanks.

message 85: by maria helena (new)

maria helena (mariahel) Zara, we only have to get 7 letters to have completed category 5 once (or 14 letters for completing it twice...)

message 86: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat Maria Helena wrote: "Zara, we only have to get 7 letters to have completed category 5 once (or 14 letters for completing it twice...)"

Thanks Maria Helena. That's what I thought.

So on that basis if everyone can post the books that they've read and the categories that are appropriate, in one post each, I can then submit this as us having finished one category. Does this mean that we don't need to read any more books now for C#5?

I already have a list of all books I have read so far: here it is.

If I remember correctly I think the fact that we have read 14 books for cat#5 means we can skip one other category?

Hi Dragana,

Thanks. Yeah I just saw that you had them all listed (guess who feels like an idiot? lol).

I'll look into the missing a category question and let you know.

If we could miss a category do you have any preference?

message 91: by Zara's Retreat (new)

Zara's Retreat Hi again Dragana,

Yes we can miss another category. If we were do it a third time we could miss two categories.

What would people like to do?

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Hi Zara,

Don't feel bad, You can't know anything and I kept that list more for me than anyone else. :)

My vote goes for us to try and do Cat#5 three times since it's the easiest and that way we can skip some other harder categories. o:)

For me the hardest is buddy read c#4 so my vote for skipping goes for that one.
