Jozef Nakielski (jozef_nakielski) | 100 comments How can a book appear to have an ISBN 13 but no ISBN 10, yet when edited the ISBN 10 appears as an ASIN. Click back to ISBN and both are blank? Surely thats a software error?
Very confusing as to whether the book is in the system or isn't.

lafon حمزة نوفل (lafon) | 3544 comments Is the book already in the system, or are you trying to add a new edition? If the former, I usually clear the ISBN fields and then save, then go back and clear the ASIN field and save. Then add whichever identifying number is appropriate. If the latter, I have no idea.

Jozef Nakielski (jozef_nakielski) | 100 comments it shows an ISBN 13 before editing, but when edited the 10 comes up as an ASIN, I could just change it but wanted advice of whether it was a site bug before i changed it

The problem was that the "ASIN" was actually the ISBN-10. I think that because the ASIN field cannot be as regulated as the ISBN one (basically if it has ten characters it's ok), if you put a complete ISBN-10 in the ASIN slot when there is an ISBN-13 only in the proper field, you get this error. I just tested it, and it's replicable.
