Just a suggestion to use the updated birthday thread. Many more birthday babies available for matching. :D
Ty wrote: "Just a suggestion to use the updated birthday thread. Many more birthday babies available for matching. :D"I fixed it! Thanks for bringing that to my attention. I didn't realize that it had been updated. :)
I have a question about #9 - I really don't neglect a favorite genre. I actually make a point to read a contemporary, a historical and a paranormal every month and tend to rotate through many sub-genres within those. I neglect favorite series and authors all the time. Is there some wiggle room here?

If you do not feel as if you are being neglectful, then just use this one as another freebie or try something new.

I am neglectful, but not of genres that I can think of - at least of those I like! =) I think I will use this as the push to get back to a series I haven't picked up in a while!

No problem!

Thanks, Lacy - I'm in pretty much the same situation, so this will be a big help to me, too!
A father figure would work if he has significance to the story and the biological father is deceased.
Angi wrote: "I'm in...will have to post later"Welcome! When you post make sure it is in the participants thread!
Hi Lacy, this is my first time with this challenge. I finished my 4 choices and have posted them as completed on the participants thread. However I'm not sure now if I was also supposed to post my list of books before reading them as an indication that I was participating. Or should I just say (for next time)I want to participate without posting the actual choices? Sorry this was not clear to me :S.

That is usually very clear in the instructions for those challenges. I hope that helps and I hope you don't mind that I jumped in Lacy!
Thanks MountainKat!Kari
With this challenge you can post as you go or post them at the beginning. You can change your books as you go.
I hope that we helped!
Breann wrote: "Not yet I don't think... I've been stalking this folder! :)"Me too! I'm starting to get a little twitchy with the need to plan for next month - it's a sickness... :D

This thread is for suggestions and questions for the various categories. The thread for the participants is located HERE .
1. “J" is for June: Read a book that starts with 'J’ or a book whose author's first or last name starts with 'J’.
2. Happy Birthday!: Read a book from a June birthday celebrant's GR bookshelf whose name/nickname starts with the same letter as yours OR match the date of your birthday (1-30) to a member on the RRRC June Birthday List. If no initials or dates match exactly, pick the next closest letter or date (above or below).
3. Geography: Read a book whose author, character or setting is from Spain. Spain is known for their art (Goya, Picasso, and Dali), architecture, music (Flamenco, classical guitar), and cinema, so read a book that incorporates the arts or an artist.
4. Father's Day (June 16): Read a book with a father as a main character or with a father-to-be (pregnancy in story).
5. Flag Day (June 14): Read a book with a military/political theme or character, or a book that takes place in a country that you would like to visit.
6. Summer Solstice (June 21): Summer is finally here!!! Read a book that takes place in the summer, has summer or sun in the title, or has a summer themed cover.
7. LGBT Pride Month: Read a book in the LGBT genre, has a LGBT character, or the cover has at least three colors of the rainbow on it.
8. Rebuild Your Life Month: Read a book where a main character makes a big change in their life. Ex: New job, moves to a new city, divorce, adoption, rehab, etc.
9. Name Your Poisen Day (June 8): Read a book from one of your favorite genres that you have been neglecting lately.
10. Readers Choice:
