The word ‘phantasmagorical’ could have been invented to describe this fantasy novel. It’s a wonderful dream of a book, magical in its writing well as its subject matter. It’s Ray Bradbury’s "Something Evil This Way Comes" transformed into a terrific mysterious romance, with great characters, a superb setting, and a storyline that twists and turns and ends up not quite where you might have imagined it would. A fabulous book. Anyone else like it?

I really liked it- there is another thread about this book with quite a few posts. Not sure how to find it.I described the book as enchanting- and only one thing bothered me, when that poor man was killed by accident.
