Thought I'd occasionally post bits and bobs that struck my funny bone here.... if anyone has anything to add, please join in!

First up---have a look at this series of tweets, from a fellow on the way to the hospital after an accident of an intimate nature. Man---could ANYTHING be more embarrassing than this?!

(Oh---probably NSFW. And you'll have to click on "next" a couple of times, to read the entire line of tweets.)

If there’s anyone who hasn’t seen this yet (it’s been a very popular video)... This random bit of silliness did make me laugh---and okay, I confess, I do think the guys are cute too. It’s ”How Animals Eat Their Food”:

The blooper reel made me smile also:

That is so goofy, I love it! Thanks for the laugh.

Nice! Great little article.... But at the same time it's depressing for me, to know that my siblings and I are also rapidly approaching that age where it becomes a question of which one of us will go first....

Jax | 990 comments I know. The very finite amount of time we have left crosses my mind quite often these days. But I practically gasped out loud when he actually put in print that it was only a matter of time before he or a sibling gets cancer. I guess that's a common fear for someone who's had a parent die of it, but my Irish-Catholic background doesn't go for tempting fate that way. I feel like I should spin counter-clockwise three times & spit in the wind on his behalf. Or something. I'll look it up in my Irish superstitions handbook.

My parents are still alive as is a maternal grandparent, so it's easier to fool myself that there's still a generation or two ahead before it's 'my generations' time'. But since cancer runs rampant through my maternal family line (both my grandmother and mother are sole survivors of all their siblings taken away by cancer) ... it hit me really hard last year when my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer.

She's had all treatments and the disease is in remission and I feel the experience has caused my siblings and I to become more closely bonded, to communicate more frequently, to become more engaged with each others' lives. My brother and I have become more vigilant with screening tests for prostate and other cancers.

And I guess at the back of all our minds is indeed the unvoiced question - which of us will go first, even IF there is a generation or two ahead of us still. Hmmmm ... this thread is about silliness and humour so how did things get so dark all of a sudden???

SO to return to matters more light-hearted, thanks for the David Sedaris article - it cracked me up and I LOVE his writing/books; he can do no wrong.

I'm a huge fan of the AVbyte brothers, who put up little mini-musicals on Youtube. Here's one of their productions---a little mashup of Darth Vader and Loki, and what might happen once they meet (since both characters are now owned by Disney):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUzEzh...

Now, this is only mildly amusing---it gave me a smile, but they've done other clips that I've found much funnier. However, what really got my attention was the behind-the-scenes video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KStyjJ...

If you cue it up to minute 2:52, you'll see what I mean---heh, heh, heh. I found myself staring at the screen; just couldn't tear my eyes away. 0_o

Wow, those are two very fine-looking young men! I believe they've both appeared in other AVbyte videos.

In the so-stupid-it-may-be-funny category, we have the new film Sharknado . (Yes, seriously.) I just read the following at Deadline Hollywood; click on the link for the teaser trailer:

What would summer be without another SyFy Channel schlocky original TV movie about sharks? In the lame tradition of Sharktopus comes this latest on July 11th,Sharknado, which is what happens when a tornado sucks thousands of sharks out of the ocean and hurls them around Los Angeles. Tara Reid and Ian Ziering star so you know it’s quality casting. Though Roger Corman does it better:

The Awkward Family Photos site is always good for a laugh or a smile. Okay, I've been the subject of some really terrible photos myself, but man---many of these are just too much!

Mercedes | 379 comments For a good chuckle and my daily dose of celebrity gossip (guilty pleasure) I read dlisted.com. MichaelK (who is gay btw) writes the snarkiest posts ever.

Another source of funnies in my day come from the comment section on Towleroad.com. I am sure Andy and his team post certain stuff just to rile their readers. The comments in this post today have been making me chuckle all day http://www.towleroad.com/2013/08/demp...

I was going to save this video to post in December, but I see it's being removed from YouTube and other sites, so I thought I'd include this link before it is blocked.

Jax | 990 comments Here's something for the cat lovers. Huff Post ran a picture post called "20 Reasons A Cat Is the Best Investment You'll Ever Make" (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/09...). Lots of cute photos, but it's #5 that keeps cracking me up. Could this kitty look any more miserable?

Jax | 990 comments This article isn't really silly, but I got a chuckle out of these two older gentlemen (who've been together for 58 years) who seem baffled by today's young folk who want relationships. They seem quite proud (and why not) that in their day, the community was much more promiscuous. One of them even says a day without sex was a failed day!

Wow, this video went viral very quickly indeed. It's gotten over 12 million additional hits since I viewed it this morning.

How would you react if you saw this running at you in the darkness?

It does make me laugh---now, how many people do you think will be dressing up their dogs as giant spiders this Halloween?
