Would you like to have your book reviewed?

First, realize that by asking for a review, you are stating you are willing to send the individual a free copy of your book. This could be in PDF format, or an advanced reader copy (ARC).

You need them to be transparent about your book.

Some wonderful and kind individuals may not like your category, genre or sub-genre but once they start reading will not want to hurt your feelings. To avoid that, make sure they know "ahead of time" and "before they commit" what your novel is about.

Give them the following information so they're not "surprised" when they read your book.

1. Title, your name, email addy

2. The genre/sub-genre (make known any strong sub-themes)

3. Your back cover blurb.

4. "Movie rate" it. And tell for what (heat? grit? language?).

5. Is it a novel, a novella or short story? Approx number of words

6. Say where you want the review posted...on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Goodreads, Shelfari, in a blog article, in a note on Facebook. All of these.

If you want your book reviewed, list your book below in the comments or start a new discussion asking for your novel to be reviewed.

Grace Awards can't guarantee you book will be reviewed. Perhaps if you volunteer to review in return? Best wishes!!!

Elise Stone (eliseinaz) Great idea, Nike. I'll put mine up first. While I have some reviews on Amazon and B&N, I have nothing on Goodreads and would like to. Posting to Amazon, et al as well would be appreciated.

Title: Faith, Hope, and Murder
Author: Elise M. Stone
Email: elisemstone@cox.net

Genre: Amateur sleuth mystery with strong romantic elements.

Back cover copy:
When Faith Andersen’s best friend asks her to help a stranger with a legal issue, she has no idea that Ursula’s problem is a fiancé convicted of murder. As a web designer, Faith’s knowledge of law is sketchy at best, but, having just lost her job, she has plenty of hours to fill.

The victim, a smuggler who brought both drugs and human beings over the Mexican border, had plenty of enemies. And even more dangerous friends.

Pastor John Menard has problems of his own. His ministry rocked by scandal, he’s already lost his wife and may just lose his congregation. It’s too soon after his divorce to think about another relationship; but there’s something about the pretty skeptic that draws him to her.

As Faith investigates the murder, she finds herself with more questions than answers. Who killed the coyote? Is Ursula really who she seems? And has Faith gotten herself into more peril than she’s ever imagined possible?

Rating: PG. Edgy in that my heroine smokes and has had an affair with a married man and my hero is a minister who has been accused of adultery. Some language.

Novel at 76,000 words

Can supply PDF, epub, mobi formats.

I just discovered your site on GR and am a Christian author who in 2012 published a 140 page novel titled, Winds Of Change, CrossBooks.
The story is of a midwest fictional family who are at different places in life but share in common a interest in the Jewish Roots of the christian faith.
I have some reviews on Amazon, a couple at B and N, one here at Good Reads, but have 4 people currently reading my book to review it. Could you recommend some smaller sites or places to post the review that would ask little of them, other than what is necessary to post a review? I am not going to shake the church world per se but would like to keep my book alive for a couple more years if possible.
Now, I am writing short stories on various themes to go in respective anthologies. Thanks.
David Russell

David, They can post here on Goodreads, Amazon, B&N, I think they take reviews on Christianbook, not sure.

Are you on Facebook, because you can copy any of those reviews and post them on FB in the various Christian author groups. You can reach thousands of people that way.

Nie, Thanks for the tip about posting reviews on FB at the various Christian groups. I suppose the courteous thing would be to alert those who are reading and reviewing one's book, that their comments may be shared elsewhere. One interesting observation in all this has been help and reviews have come more from outside where I live, move and have my being and local support has been minimal. I kind of feel like Yeshua who was said to be a stranger in Nazareth. Excuse the segway..

David, I think if the review is from a fellow Christian writer, you don't have to advise them. They will expect you to use a great review for marketing. If it's a reader, that's another matter. I think if it's on Amazon, it's already in the public domain, but a reader may not realize this. So it might be prudent to mention you're going to post their review or a link to it on Christian groups.

Jeffrey Reid (ZackandMack) | 2 comments Hello Grace Awards Exchange,

I would like to have folks here at this group read and enjoy the new book titled "The Smile Ambassadors" It is a children's fiction book around 94 thousand words. While not in the Christian genre per se, it is a wholesome and innocent story. But I will let the readers judge that.

zackandmack@inbox.com

The story is definitely rated G. The story is suitable for all humans but written with the younger readers in mind. As it is an e-book, there is no back blurb, but here is a the description:

Constance has lost her turtle. It is not just any turtle but Zack and Mack, a two-headed turtle. Where can they be? Will placing mackerel around town lure Zack and Mack from hiding? What about that phone call from the mysterious Mr. Moto? Are Zack and Mack to be found in a turtle race at the Fair? Why does the President want to make them Smile Ambassadors? Meet the Queen of England's Royal Turtle, Henry. Learn of the insidious plot by The Potentate. Experience the climatic crash, tumble and heart thumping action of full-on turtle racing. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this story is designed to create a mental image of turtles that you will never forget; it will also give you cause to smile.

The Smile Ambassadors is a novel suitable for all humans but it is specifically written for ages eight to fourteen.

Everyone here can get a free copy...While is has been published on amazon and elsewhere, one may go here: https://www.smashwords.com/books/view... And use download code FC64J (good through October 31st).

I will add that putting bow ties on a two-headed turtle is quite a chore. Finally we were able to get it all together for the cover photo shoot.

Ladies and gentlemen of the group, you may review, or not, but whatever you do, read it and smile.

Respectfully,

Zack and Mack and Jeffrey Reid (translator)

There is one issue that I would like the help of folks here and that is with classification. While the book was written at a certain reading level and currently classified as children's fiction, I am not certain if that is the proper category. Like I said, the book is not Christian-themed per se, but does have those undertones. I would like to find the proper audience for the story, if anyone here can help, it would be appreciated.
