Pink and Joann - Never Let Me Go

Hi everyone, Joann and I have just decided to read Never Let Me Go I'm excited to try this, as I have had the book for a long time and the DVD too, which I plan on watching afterwards.

If anyone else has read this feel free to join in our discussion - spoiler free of course for now!

I've read the first 5 chapters, taking me up to page 60. I have found it a bit slow going at times, but I'm intrigued to find out exactly what is happening. The whole concept of donors/nurses sounds ominous and I have a vague feeling of what it's all about, but I'm not sure if I'm on the right track or not yet. So far I'm liking Kathy and Tommy as characters, but not so much Ruth, although I think I might be supposed to feel that way.

I finished the book and wrote a short review which explains my feelings, but I didn't like it all that much. It seems my reading buddy liked it even less as Joann only read a couple of pages before deciding not to give up on it!

Has anyone else read it, or does anyone like it, I know that it gets a lot of 5star reviews from fans of the book, but this one was not for me.
