Way to go, Nadine! Looks like you had a great Read-a-thon!
I'm going to read as much as possible in my last 15 hours...

message 60: by Nadine (new)

Nadine | 252 comments Yeah sorry for confusing. :-)
For the first time I read one book after the other, I usually read some 50 pages here then some 50 pages there during the readathon. And I have to say I like the new way much better. I might have to think about my general reading habits ;-)
I am reading the second part of Cinder now and like it too, although it isn't as easy to get into as Cinder was. I do love the way there are hints to the all known fairy tales, but she made something very new from it. Also some bits are completely different (would spoiler too much to explain, but I like that she manages to surprise me.

And yay, enjoy your final hors of the readathon! For me the last day was a bit slow reading wise, I also fell asleep in the evening, I think due to some nights in which I couldn't put my books down during the week.

Anne | 274 comments If you count the book I finished about an hour after my time was up, then I met all my goals. I finished 5 library books, finished 4 books that had been on my currently reading list a long time, and made progress on some challenges. It was by far my most successful readathon.

Completed:
1.Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed (listened 11.5 hours= last 250 pages)
2.Triple Shot, Double Pump, No Whip Zits: A ZITS Treasury (208 pages)
3.The Willful Princess and the Piebald Prince (184 pages)
4.Libriomancer- (last 247 pages)
5.Whispers Under Ground (last 259 pages)
6.The Death of the Necromancer- 58 pages during readathon, final 53 pages right after time was up for me

Begun before Readathon, still reading:
Catherine the Great: Portrait of a Woman- listened for 7.5 hours (about 210 pages)

Started during Read-a-thon, still reading:
1.Assassination Vacation 28 pages

Total pages: 1444

You did good Annie! Doesn't it feel good when you finish with so many done?

It does feel good :) I really needed that readathon, and it was great that it nicely coincided with a slow week at work. I had more free time than usual, and I took full advantage of it to get a little caught up. I'm still 11 books behind if I want to get to 100 this year, but finishing 6 books in a week certainly helps in my efforts. Mixing a few fun, quick reads in with my more serious works made it a rather enjoyable week of reading.

It looks like you did great as well.

Ann A (readerann) Day 7 Report

Tolstoy and the Purple Chair: My Year of Magical Reading - 20 pages, finished
McCarthy's Bar: A Journey of Discovery In Ireland - 111 pgs
The Moonstone - 28 pgs
The Silver Linings Playbook - 44 pgs

Total for Day 7: 203 pgs
Grand total: 814 pages

Something seems to have happened to Goodreads since yesterday. I had a difficult time adding two of my links here - the only way it could find the books was when I copied and pasted the ISBN numbers from my currently-reading shelf. Weird...

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with my results. I would like to have gotten to 1000 pages, but I did finish 3 out of the 5 books I had in progress, and made some good headway on the other 2. Also started 1 new one.

Way to go, Anne and Tracy!
