Creating Your Own “Private” or “Secret” Group to Keep Track of Your Books & Challenges - Creating Your Own Challenges Within Your Group
date
newest »

An odd requirement, but first you need to become a member of Goodreads Feedback group
Then you go back to the group you moderate and on the top right hand side, where you normally see Group home, event, invite people, etc. you will see a new option "Create Challenge."
Hope it helps. ☺

Some people like to create their own “private” or “secret” group to keep track of not only their books, but their challenges. Here is how to do both:
◆ Go to the GoodReads Meau/Toolbar and select "Groups" (blue arrow on Screen #1).
◆ Once the "Groups" screen appears, you will see off the right (red arrow on Screen #1) in green font "Create a Group." Click on that. ◆ On the next screen, fill out the information, being sure to answer all the required fields indicated by red asterisks * (red arrows, Screen #2). NOTE: Topic and Sub-topic are both required. ◆ To create a challenge, click on "Create Challenge" over to the right (red arrow, Screen #3) in green font. However, if you have already created challenges before (blue arrow, Screen #3), you'll note that there is also the option to select "create a challenge" (pink arrow, Screen #3). ◆ On the next screen (Screen #4) define your challenge, upload a picture/image from your computer, if you desire, and set your date parameters. ◆ If you want to edit a challenge, say for example, the challenge time has ended (blue arrow, Screen #5), but you want to do it again the following year. Then click on the name of the challenge (red arrow, Screen #5). ◆ Then click on "edit challenge" over to the right in green font (red arrow, Screen #6). SPECIAL NOTES: When you create a group, you are automatically the Moderator of the group. One neat thing you can do is have multiple comment boxes open at one time , making it easier to cut and paste, as you edit.
Also, if you put your upcoming BOM or "buddy read" books on your Home Page with dates, and set-up your notifications correctly, GRs will send you eMails beforehand - by a certain number of days that you select - that the book is about to be read. To do this, go under "edit" on your Home Page (Screen #7, red arrow).
