chapter headings

Did anyone find the chapter headings a little random? I thought there was going to be some tying in of the poem-like titles at the end but there wasn't. I didn't think the style of them went at all well with Belle's narrative style.
Do you agree?

YES! I didn't understand it at all. So many writers seem to do it in their books these days, regardless of whether it fits in.

To the best of my reckoning, I think...I think that they were from the source materiel of the Canterbury Tales mm? from my limited reading of Chaucer before giving up in disgust I am fairly sure they are from the Tales.

And sorry for the pomposity of this I am like that a lot.
