I agree with Chelsea about paperbacks because they fit in my purse. I'm trying to get used to my Kindle but I just love real books too much.
Ebooks, on an e-ink device. It is the story & words that I get lost in, and my Kindle Paperwhite is much more comfortable to hold than paperback or hardcover. I can adjust the font size enough to read comfortably with or without my glasses, in any light level, fit it in my purse or knitting bag, and never, ever be without something to read next when I finish my current read. I still have all my paper books, so if ever I wish for a whiff of eau d'book, I can reach out and ruffle some pages quite easily. :-)I still think that one of the most wonderful and magical smells in the world is walking into a good used book store.
For me it would behardcover>ebook>paperback
Paperback books are easily torn. E-books are convenient but don't give that special something about paper texture.
I really love the audiobooks & e-books I can stack up on my Kindle for various reasons. But I do love the comfort of a real book. Much lighter. But the Kindle is great especially for a trip.
Definitely a fan of hardcover copies, especially if the book is one I plan to re-read at a later date. It also gives me a chance to take notes in books that I'm really into and find rather entertaining.
For me it's easy to grab on kindle and I use the book mark as a really useful I rarely buy the hard copy of the book.
