Most of them, my favourite of which is the Percy Jackson series because well its about Greek myths. I also love Divergent, Mortal instruments and The Infernal Devices-especially the last one even though it broke me

message 108: by Wade (new)

Wade Corbeil (wadevc) Hello, hello....I just joined what I hope to be a fun group. I have joined a few in the past that were so, what's the word I am looking for..."Stuffy", they just weren't all that fun to be a part of. This group sounds exactly what I am looking for: FUN!

Anyway, my name is Wade, I am 48 and from the US. I absolutely LOVE classic Sci-Fi (Wells, Burroughs, Verne) as well as the "Classics" such as Mark Twain, Jack London, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Actually, I enjoy just about every genre except for Romance and Hard Sci-Fi.

I hope to get to know everyone here and happy reading!

Madge (madge_the_bibliomaniac) Hi everyone! I go by the name Wyllow most of the time. I live in the US and I've been a life-long reader. I usually go for dystopian, horror, fantasy, YA, and classics, but I read a little of many genres.

message 118: by K. (new)

Caffee K. (kcaffee) Hello to all. Just joined, so am still reading through the previous posts. Taking a moment to "meet and greet" everyone. I tend to go by "Kat" because there are too many ways to misspell the full name.

Avid fantasy and sci-fi reader, though I have dipped into other genres from time to time. Right now, I'm plowing through my list of books, but am always on the lookout for new authors/books to read.

I look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone a bit better over time.

Brenda Klaassen (librarymom23) Welcome Kat!

✨ABookGirl✨memoirs are my jam✨ (abookgirl1) Hello All! My name is Nicole and I am from the Grand Canyon State. Wife, Mom and Sun Devil. I've loved reading since I was in elementary school and my goal is to teach my kids how much fun and rewarding reading can be! Some of the first books I remember reading as a kid were Goosebumps and Fear Street! :)

My plans for 2015 are as follows:
1.Participate in the Rory Gilmore Book Challenge (A list of 339 books)
2.Read 120 books
3.Check out as many books as possible from the local public library
4.Continue teaching my kids the joy of reading

For those that are not aware, the Rory Gilmore Book Challenge comes from the TV show Gilmore Girls. The list includes a wide variety of book genres: fiction, non-fiction, classics, poetry and YA. My biggest reason for participating in this challenge is to expose myself to different authors/genres and to become more widely read.

Wish me luck and Happy Reading!

I am happy to welcome you Nicole! I checked out the R.G.Book List and am happy to report that I have read 12 off the list. I might join you on this quest, it will depend on what my in-person Book Club decides to read. Thanks for drawing attention to this list!

message 124: by jul (new)

jul (killuazoldyck) | 1 comments Hi! My name is Tamara and I'm 18. I found this group because my psychology teacher suggested me to find a group of people to share my favorite activities.

I read books and mangas too, I'm very open-minded and I enjoy suffering for fictional characters (haha no).

I like everything but my favourite genres are: children's, fantasy, fiction, comedy, adventure, action, magical, drama and romance.

I hope to read more from now on!
And I hope we can be friends

PS: My english is not so good I'm sorry.

Brenda Klaassen (librarymom23) Welcome Tamara. Look forward to reading some of your reviews.

message 126: by Julia (new)

Julia (juliace) Hi All - My name is Julia, I'm 49 yrs old and live in Orlando FL w/ my BF of 15 years.
I love to read anything that will hold my interest, but lately I have been reading womens & historic fiction. I have also been reading some poetry and non-fiction, which is outside of my comfort zone.
In addition to reading, I love to go fresh-salt water fishing, antiquing and day tripping w BF. I have also recently taken up knitting - RA runs on my mothers side of the family and it was suggested to me to do something to keep my hands active.
Looking forward to chatting with you.

message 127: by Brenda (new)

Brenda Klaassen (librarymom23) Welcome Julia...Sounds like this is the year that you are trying a few things outside of your comfort zone. I just started knitting also at the end of 2014. Looking forward to some of your reviews and comments.
