GR lists Gross as an author along with Patterson, so that works.

We go by what GR lists - it would get way too complicated for us to try to assess the actual contribution the listed people made! So, if they get author credit on GR, it works.

No, it's pretty clear that these are all stories by Kafka.

I thought editors counted as well, but thanks.

This wasn't the sort of situation I had in mind - more the case of editors who had the involvement of putting together assortments from different authors and thus had more involvement.
However, in order to keep consistency in the use of terms used by GR, I'll accept it.

I understand. I'd rather read one more in keeping with what you had in mind, so would this one be okay? A House to Let

In 1933, a top song was “Stormy Weather,” written by co-authors Harold Arlen and Ted Koehler, and recorded by at least five different artists that year - Ethel Waters, Leo Reisman, Duke Ellington, Frances Langford and Guy Lombardo (and possibly others). Stormy Weather.
Read a book with more than one author - co-authors, collection of stories by different authors, etc. GR must list more than one author - 2 people writing under one pseudonym will not work for this task. An "author" is the writer of a book, an editor of a collection of articles or stories, or a contributing writer in a collection. An illustrator, translator, artist, etc. is not considered an "author."
