Author profiles?

Can anyone add a website for an author? I was trying to add http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/plato/ under the website section on the author profile of Plato, however it does not seem to allow me to do this. Please help! :)

Because there were many other profile of his(have no idea how were created) that needed merging. I managed to get them all and add the link :)
A site can be hijacked by a bot or whatever the current term is and it is usually porn. If there is a contact for the author, you might want to let her know.

I applied for the author program about a week ago. I have several issues that I can't seem to figure out. First of all, my basic account and author account aren't merged. I can't add a cover to my book. I added the same book twice and I need to delete the one that doesn't have a review for it. Please HELP!!!! Thank you. Lan
Lan, it does look like you haven't been added to the GR Authors program yet. It usually doesn't take a week; you might want to contact Support and ask them to check on it.In the meantime, we can fix up your book records. Just start a new thread under the "Book Issues" folder with a link to the book which needs changes. (Don't use an existing thread, since you're requesting changes to a specific book.)
How do I find the link to my book? Is support on the home page? Goodreads is very new and confusing to me:( I'm trying to figure it out, but it's a learning process for me.

I think that part of your problem is that is not much information on the book pages. No publication dates, no publisher, no ISBN or ASIN, in fact nothing to prove that the book really exists.
Banjomike,Both of those books I need to have deleted please because I was having problems adding to GR. Please keep the one with the 5-star review. How do find those links you posted in the above comment? Thank you!
What problems are you having adding? The books can be edited to add the correct data
One problem is that there was a book on the second profile in #12 which has now gone and I hate it when that happens.
Paula, I added the same book three times, so I need the other two deleted. Can anyone help me please?

Support will only add you to the author program if they think you have a book.
The cover is on my laptop since I'm not given an option to upload. The reason they denied my author request is because of my author name being different from my real name. Hence, the same book is under two names.

Does your book have an ISBN, publisher, or a past or future publication date? These things will be important to have in order to get in the author program.Any librarian here can edit this info in for you.
My book isn't published yet. I'm hoping to get it published next month. I wanted to get some reviews up before I publish. I know another author who's done this, and she hasn't had any trouble. Can we delete the other two books and link the one that has a review?
Having reviews before it is publish is fine. But getting an author profile with such little info is unlikely.edit: i meant author not another, sorry
I don't need another profile:( I just want the author page and my basic page linked and the other copies of the same book deleted. Maybe I'm not explaining myself clearly:(
that is what we call an author profile. Your user & author would become one profile.

But there must be evidence that you ARE an author. The two books that are left don't have a publisher or an ISBN or an ASIN or a publication date and we still don't know where the third one went!
The other author you know who's done this and hasn't had any trouble has probably done something different.

"You can't. Support might make you a Goodreads Author but only if there are books on the profile that you want to use. That profile must match the name on the book cover. As I've said several times the book that WAS on the Lan Phongkhammeung profile has disappeared so that profile is unlikely to become a Goodreads Author.

If you don't then post the book details here and we will add them. If you do become a Goodreads Author then you can add the details yourself. Either way we need to see what support decide or you can contact Customer Support directly and include a link to this thread so they can see what has been tried.
The Lan Phongkhammeung profile has now gone as well. Support will need to sort this out.

No other links. Can you provide any more details of the book, like publisher etc? You said that you were hoping to get it published next month so there should be more info available.
I haven't uploaded it to any of the platforms yet. Do most people do that before they publish to get their publishing info?

Not without a direct request from the author, who would be more likely to set it themselves if they wished to do so.

I've recently joined the Author Program as Roger Hardy. My 5 novels are listed and that's fine but there is a sixth book by another Roger Hardy: The Muslim Revolt: A Journey Through Political Islam.
I don't want to delete it but am keen that it shouldn't be listed as one of my books. Can a librarian help please?

I guess that authors have "special powers", they can change their information without librarians.
