Dawn Well, my only fear with a Norse series would be the trite demonization of Loki. He was never a villain in the Norse Sagas or the Edda (or even the Gesta Danourm) until Snorri Sturleson and other Christians tried to use the material to convert the Norse peoples to Christianity. They needed a Satan figure and Loki was used. The Norse stories are complicated because the good guys aren't really good at all (Odin was shifty and untrustworthy at his best of times, for example) and so forth.

The vilification of Ares in the Percy Jackson books is kind of what makes me worry about that. Yes, he is War. But he is also a god of courage, manliness, strength, cowardice, civil order and many, many more things. He wasn't looked down on as highly as Homer and a few other classical writers with personal agendas would have to believe.
