Thanks! I didn't actually make it up myself, but I'm glad so many people are interested in participating. I think it's a lot of fun.

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments Great challenge list Karlee :-). A lot of good classics on it :-)

message 6: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments The list looks very interesting, I see, that I also have some of the books in my challenge :)

And thanks once again for the tip on listopia, I found really good books there :)

message 7: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Thanks guys! I'm loving reading everyone's lists. This is going to be fun. :)

message 8: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments I can't stop tinkering with my list! Anyone else having the same problem? ;)

message 9: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6820 comments Mod
I do that too! Then, I'll read something completely different and put that in for the letter instead. lol

message 10: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6820 comments Mod
I already have a new list started for next year because there are some books that I really want to read and they don't fit on my current list! (Ok, that might be a little OCD or something...lol)

message 11: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments No you aren't Kristie! Unless I am too, because I've started doing that as well. (The entire Outlander series for instance)

Ok, maybe we both are.

message 12: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments You two are toooo funny! ROFLOL!

message 13: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Cathie, you're only laughing 'cause you can relate, right? ;-)

message 14: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments Sure Karlee, lol.

Have you seen my TBR list???!!

message 15: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments LOL! You should be able to fill up A-z challenge lists for the next 20 years!

message 16: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6820 comments Mod
Hahaha...at least I'm not the only one!! Next time I want to do the challenge with no "the" or "a" titles. :)

message 17: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments As if it isn't difficult enough already.

Actually, it wouldn't be to difficult if I could just stop CHANGING MY MIND!

message 18: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6820 comments Mod
If you look at your list, most of them don't have "the" or "a". I bet you could do it! My new list has a lot of...I'm going to read this or this or this. For example, for "S" I have - Shift Omnibus or Sharp Objects or Shadow and Bone. I have a lot of "ors". I'm sure I'll have a lot more as time goes by too.

message 19: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Yeah, that sounds like me as well. Actually, it isn't the "a" or "the" words in the titles that stump me. It's those pesky "x" "q" "z" and other letters that I find difficult. My "Z" letter this year was easy, I already had Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald downloaded to my kindle. "X" is being a bit tricky. I have a tentative one down, but that may change if I find something better.

message 20: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6820 comments Mod
Yes, those are more difficult. I am planning to read x0, y1, and z2 next time. It's a very conveniently titled series that looks interesting. :)

I have a couple Q books. Those don't seem as difficult for me. I have Queen of Babble Bundle and Quest for a Maid.

I sometimes just think of a word that starts with the letter I need (such as Quest for Q) and do a search. A bunch of stuff comes up.

message 21: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments That's a good idea. I'll have to try that next time. I'm reading Anne Rice's vampire chronicles for my "V" and "Q" books. But after those, plus A Discovery of Witches and Shadow of Night, I think I'm gonna be vampired out for a while.

I've haven't heard of the XOy1 and z2 series. I'll have to put them on my list for next year.

message 22: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 6820 comments Mod
Funny, I think I'm convincing everyone to read them, but I haven't read them myself so I don't know if they're actually any good. I hope everyone likes them!

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Finally at the beach and hoping to knock a few letters off my list this week. :)

message 25: by Anima (new)

Anima Miejska | 1698 comments Good luck with the reading, and I envy you this beach option :)

message 26: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments Enjoy your sun time :-)

message 27: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Thanks guys! I always love going to the beach, I feel like I get to catch up on my reading! :)

message 28: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Well, I went to Barnes and Noble and bought The Orphan Master's Son, Northanger Abbey, Jurassic Park...

...and The Kitchen House - which my mother promptly stole from me. My sister may have dibs on it next. It may be a while before I get to that one. ;)

message 29: by Cathie (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments lol, i love families that read together!

Must be something about The Kitchen House. I started to read it last week; got about 10 pages into it, put it down to grab a coffee and my friend scooped it up and said "Ohhhh, I'm borrowing this one, you already are reading too many books!!

So mine also has gone to someone's else's eyes, lol (for awhile)

message 30: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Lol! Every year at the beach I ask my mom and sister if they want to come to Barnes & Noble with me to pick out beach books and every year they say no. They just wait for me to get back with a stack of books and then they call dibs on the ones they want to read! That's why I get at least three or more, so I'll have something left for me. ;)

The fact that they both want the Kitchen House just makes me want to read it even more! I hope you get your copy back soon. :)

message 31: by Cathie (last edited Jun 01, 2013 10:10PM) (new)

Cathie (catitude) | 1511 comments Wouldn't they be surprised if all you came back with was middle grade Hardy boy novels one year, snickers!

message 32: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Lol. Cathie you may be on to something!!

Oh, but I really really want to read The Orphan Master's Son. I keep trying to get it as a group read - it would be a great book for discussion I think. But I haven't had any success yet. I am gonna keep trying.

message 36: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Sarah, I will join forces with you and try to get The Orphan Master's Son as our July additional reads book!

message 37: by Brightness (new)

Brightness (brightnessreads) | 429 comments Well, my mom just returned The Kitchen House and said it was wonderful. Can't wait to start it now. :)
