I think we can come up with some ideas, there are various types of challenges - spell it out, reading books according to genres, themes or setting some other goals to achieve through reading.

I have only just discovered this and think it is a great idea. Is it only a 2013 thing or can it be done any time? I doubt I'd get through 26 books between now and the end of December!

Perhaps a new thread can be started for a 2014 A-Z challenge just so it would be easier to differentiate?
No new thread is needed, the challenge is entirely personal to yourself. You can start and finish when you want, just like you can choose the rules of what type of books / what order you read etc. :)
Each person has their own thread here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
I have two different A-Z Challenges going right now. I won't be done until sometime in 2014 too. Feel free to set up a thread and personalize your challenge.

Thank you, I will start my own thread for my 2014 A-Z challenge, gives me a bit of time to pick my books too!
I have just finalised my A-Z challenge list, so I'll post my own thread so others can see what I'll be reading if anyone is interested. I'll probably blog it too, so it's like a journal for myself :)
Heather - It's a very relaxed A to Z over here, you create your own rules. If you want to back date then you do it :)

love this idea I think I will start it on Jan 1 2014 and give my self a year max to do this challenge.
how do you do a strike through, I think I want to make my list then do that this way I read the books I have piled up to read

Heather - I don't know if you know this already, but if you change the "s" to an "i", it will italicize your word or change the "s" to a "b" for bold. If you change the "s" to the word "spoiler", it will hide the text under a spoiler tag. Keep everything else the same, just change out the one letter.

ok.. I like this... will begin on 2014!!
You can read any books you'd like to for the A-Z challenge, even if they are BOMs or count towards your choice awards challenge. :)
Too many life changes in 2013 prevented me from reading much this year. This challenge is the perfect way to get back into the game.
Just came across this list: 100 books to read before they're movieshttp://www.buzzsugar.com/Books-Made-M...
It covers a lot of letters :)
Some, of course, have already been addressed in this group, but there are others than I hadn't heard about.

Shannon, welcome to the challenge, you can create your personal folder in this thread to trace your books more easily. :)
Am I able to include books that I have read since the beginning of the year?

Someone is going to make a movie of The Thin Man? Sacrilege! William Powell and Myrna Loy are the ONLY Nick & Nora!
I think will be a great challenge. I'm in. I am going to mix it up with author's names and book titles too. I'm going to add a post when I'm at my computer.
@Sarah - how was Beautiful Ruins? I've been debating whether or not to read that one...LOVED Dark Places. Did you also read Sharp Objects?
Hey Paula
You need to start your own thread rather than on here.
Go to https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... then click on the link at top right hand side of the page that's called 'new topic'

Hi Jennifer - The first post has some helpful hints to find books for the hard letters. I'm not at my computer to leave links, but I have a few ideas. I'll try to post later.
