I just finished reading The Introvert Advantage: How to Thrive in an Extrovert World and really loved it. There's so much info packed in here, I had the highlighter out the entire time I was reading. I highly recommend it for those people who are introverts who are trying to break out of their shells. This helps you to be yourself, take care of your introvert body, and be a better extrovert at the same time. Coping skills. Well worth it.

About to finish Junk!

And, OMG, I'm jealous of Jasper's new house!!! Especially his livingroom with the floor to ceiling book shelves and the fireplace. *sigh* That's my happy place. Seriously. Why can't I live in a place like that?

It is very cheap to produce. That's why you see so much of it.

Elementary is nice because it doesn't show the gruesome parts of murder solving. I say that because I know people who won't watch shows that show insides and all that.

I'm not a fan of those shows that get too political or too, I don't want to say "worldly" but when things get complicated and we start dealing with criminals from other countries and such, then I get confused and less interested. NCIS I watch on rare occasions. I like it, but not enough to keep me there every week.

So someone reviewed this book on our library catalog last week, making it pop up on the screen when you first click on the catalog. I liked the cover, though carrying it around, I want to hide it from everyone. But, I couldn't resist checking it out.

Sex Tips for Gay Guys by Dan Anderson

Apparently there's a newer edition with a different cover. But this one was much more... well, interesting. Especially the back cover with the one guy not wearing much of anything. lol.

I just thought I'd mention it here for those who might find it interesting.

That said, I just started reading the final Brandstetter book last night. *sobs*

And I have a YA book on audio to pick up this afternoon: Daughter of Smoke & Bone (Daughter of Smoke & Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor .

Along with watching Elementary this weekend, maybe this audio book will help me get more knitting done!

Have you listened to any of the others in that series? I read the first few but it's been so long I need to re-read. Maybe I'll check out the audio books.

I was going to buy the latest in Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series, Night Broken, but $10.99 for the ebook? I think I'm spoiled by m/m books. :) I guess I'll just get the audio book since it's not much more $.

My library may eventually get it. It appears they have the first five as an ebook collection, which is cool. But I'm not that patient - I will cave because I love this series. :)

Thanks Alison and Antonella for mentioning R. Cooper's Let There Be Light. I'd read two shorts, And I Am Happy and With Everything I Have and enjoyed both. I also read about half of a very long earlier work (Ideas of Sin) before giving up. Let There Be Light was literate, lush, and just the right length. Throw in some of my favorite tropes — exactly my cup of tea. : )

I've heard Daughter of Smoke and Bone was super fantastic and popular. Not as popular as some other YA books, as I don't get many patron requests for it. But it's rarely on shelf.

And scarves, yes! That's about all I'm capable of knitting right now. I finally moved on to a K2, P2 pattern which I should have learned how to do years ago. But I hate having to keep track of where I am. I keep having to go back and fix things. Lol. Straight knitting is easier, but the outcome is more boring.

Right now I'm halfway through my forest green scarf. :-)

The Hollows is one of my favorite series. Some of my friends say it took them a few books to really get into it, but they were hooked later. My favorite book in the series is Pale Demon, but you have to read them in order or you miss a lot (also some characters develop so they are different later in the series).

I just finished Night Broken. I enjoyed it (but it is also from one of my favorite series). It explores some different areas of mythology this time (within the usual context of adventure), and we meet a new character I really like. Also there is more Coyote.

I just checked and I read the first six in the Hollows series in 2009. I don't remember why I stopped at #6, The Outlaw Demon Wails. I think Rachel got on my nerves a bit.

I just started the audiobook of Night Broken this morning. I'm sure I'll like it, but as I've just started I can't help grumbling about the decision to bring back the ex-wife to cause trouble between Mercy and Adam and the pack. I'm more interested in what's going to happen with the Fae.

This is the first one I have listened too - I really like Rachel's voice on this - she sounds like I imagined she would. I would like to go back and listen from the begining. The charactors have changed and grown so much since the first few books.

The only series I have listened to completely is Nalini Singh's Psy Changeling Series - audible had them on sale a while back so I picked them up.

If you like audio I would highly recommend Ben Aaronovitch's Rivers of London series - I think these are the best audio versions I have listened to.

I like the Hollows narrator too. If you have it in your library (or budget) I recommend listening to the Dresden Files read by James Marsters (Spike form Buffy). I've listen as well as read that series all along, so in my mind Harry is JM.

Don't worry about a love triangle in Night Broken. Adam isn't that way. The ex is a domestic annoyance, like the traffic jam on Black Friday mentioned in the previous book. We get some fae, but the new big bad is from an entirely different mythology. (view spoiler). Naturally we still see some fae and some vampires.

@ Valerie I had read the books first and I tend to work while I listen to audiobooks--so I probably just didn't notice. :) But my whole family is full of dyslexics and the like, which often extends to flipping sounds around too, so I am used to a lot of odd mispronunciations and malapropisms. (We often create 6 impossible words before breakfast).

Becky Black (beckyblack) I went on a spree on Amazon earlier and cleared my "To Get" shelf. Now everything on my To Read shelf is in my possession (aside from the unreleased ones) and the only dilemma is what to read next. There were several Josh books on the list of course. But even after I finished them I still won't have read everything by Josh. So many books, so little time.

I just finished My Man Godric. These are engaging stories, interestingly constructed. In the ones I've read at least one of the MCs is unaware of another's feelings. You might think that would get old fast, but somehow it doesn't.
