That sounds southern alright. And also sounds exactly like what one of my friends has said who's from the south. We won't mention his crazy grandmother shooting the neighbor's cats off her car with a squirrel gun. ;-)

My grandma wasn't crazy, but she was pretty funny. You never knew what would come out of her mouth. She was very "honest." ;-)

Well, it just came out so it doesn't have a lot of ratings yet. I usually don't trust early reviews but this book popped up in my feed when I happened to be looking for something "different" so I decided to give it a try. Glad I did!

Glad you like it KC. It's the mother of all slow build romances, but IMHO there's not enough conversation between heroes in most books. It's conversation and learning about each other that builds a relationship, regardless of what goes on in bed.

Antonella | 11565 comments I've read ''Changes Coming Down'' from our Kaje Harper. It was really good, 4 solid stars if I manage to rate it separately from the *free* anthology Hunting Under Covers. I haven't read the rest yet.

It is well written and quite realistic, just towards the end I got some troubles believing it could go like this in real life.

BTW my praise is more worth because I usually avoid m/m/m, not on principle, but because it is seldom well made. In contrast her story was really good also from this point of view.

So what are you waiting, go and download it!

I was intending to re-read the other three before reading it. Do you think I should, to get the most out of it? I'm wondering if it's necessary because Spring sounds more stand-alone from what I've read (avoiding spoilers).

I didn't re-read but it has't been too long since I read Something Like Autumn. It seems to be a stand alone. I am almost 25% through and so far the only character from previous books we've met is Michelle (Jase's sister). I know we are supposed to see Ben and Tim, though. Maybe it will be a side story? I haven't read any spoilers so I'm not sure.

I'm glad you like it. It's a book that stayed with me. I loved it (with moments when i hated things inside it, it's not an easy book to read at times) and i thought it was beautiful. Maybe we can talk about it when you finish it? :-)

I would really like that (to talk about it when I'm finished). The writing style reminds me of some other authors I like to read... maybe Jay Bell or J.H. Trumble or even Luke Hartwell (but gentler, sweeter version)?

I haven't read Bell or Hartwell yet, but i just finished Trumble a few days ago, so compared to that, yes, i agree, the writing style here is gentler and perhaps more...lyrical almost. And i think it fits in well with the MCs' emotions, their innocence. I like it when the writing style reflects, intensely sometimes, the mood of the characters and what they are going through. I thought Trumble did that really well too, taking into consideration the background to that story, it makes one feel so much.

I agree. Slow build romances are great (I loved The Apothecary's Garden), it's really all about keeping one's interest going, and so far i'm looking forward to their conversations. And they seem so natural, it's refreshing really.

I started reading two series recently mentioned:

Shadow of the Templar — I read The Morning Star (Shadow of the Templar, #1) by M. Chandler The Morning Star so far.

Jordan L. Hawk's SPECTR series. Don't know how I missed this one. It's "right up my alley" and I've enjoyed the Widdershins books. I've read Hunter of Demons, Master of Ghouls, Reaper of Souls, and I'm midway through Eater of Lives.

Thanks for the recommendations!

Ije the Devourer of Books | 1994 comments I just finished reading Play Me, I'm Yours by Madison Parker. I dont generally read YA stories but I enjoyed this one. I am now going to start Walk with Me by Cardeno C. it is getting some good reviews at the moment so it should be a good one.

A friend of mine* wrote that it is light years away from the standard m-m romance, it is true. Don't expect plain romance, but there is a significant relationship developing in the course of the story. It is a thick book but you read it in a short time because it is so gripping.

Susinok | 5205 comments None of Bozza's books are standard m/m romance. They are leagues above it in most cases. I've read three of her books now, and I think I have the Albert Sterne book as well.
